Does the beast taunt?

I feel like this year the beast has been taunting me. When I first found this site in January of this year I was nearing the end of a 5-month hellish cycle. Since that time I've had a couple of PF periods that were counted in weeks, but the beast keeps coming back. Some stretches it's a hit every-other day. Sometimes (like now) it's just a K7-8 hit every 3/4 days. It's almost like before a cycle is starting with sporatic hits where they eventually increase in frequency and regularity. However this time the beast has just been bouncing in and out as if to taunt me. (Could he be French? - sorry, but I'm a Monty Python fan) Anyway, has this happened to anyone else here? Not that I'm complaining ... surely I'd take this to being in-cycle. BTW, I'd thought of naming this post "Am I normal?", but I figured I'd open myself up to way too many wise-guy remarks from you yahoos!   Thanks BruceD

In the past, when my cycle ended it was GONE completely. My last cycle ended in Oct and while I haven't been getting hit (or even shadows), some days that side of my head still feels 'bruised inside'. Its not painful at all, kinda just a reminder. hope 'le beast' gives you a break, grant

i am chronic, and i get the same thing. lots of shadows that panic me to think a new ccycle is coming. i just came out of a very strange cycle. i thought my cycle was over. i went almost a whole day with no pain. then, boom, it hit again with a vengence. the last day of this last cycle was one of intence horrifying pain. this time it scared my mother and family. that lasted for two days of constant sharp jabs one after another for about 45 minutes each time it hit. it hit me 5 times on my last day. i was pf all day. i do not have the droop, but a couple of jabs to let me know that he is still around. i am sorry that your pain was so bad.

That's what started happening to me before I went from episodic to chronic. The lines between cycles blurred until it just became one big cycle. Mark

Yikes, MarkNW. That was the one answer that I was hoping not to get. I've been praying that this is just something "wierd" that will pass and not a prelude to something ugly to come. Oh well, I'll keep thinking it's just a taunt (unless I see a cow raining down on my head ... Fetchez la vache) Take care BruceD
