Splittin, Tell us more if you can. What kind of meds do you use for preventive and abortive? Sorry this is happening to you, but welcome to the family! Grab an oar and go to the back of the boat! Mikey, ;D

We know all about the expense end of it.....we have good insurence (yeah rite).....but they won't pay for tests or anything done in the hospital......since our doc left the state our new doc wants routine tests done.....which.....you guessed it....our insurence will not pay a dime of.....and our new doc is in a new clinic and jus happens to be a spinoff of the hospital.....so.....all in all we have racked up about $ 500.00 with tests doc wants done so far......we gotta pay it all. I thought tests were consider'd preventative procedure ? Dam it sucks !!!! Pam that's ins co should be shot (figuratively speaking) !

[flash=200,200]URL[/flash] ;Dwell i live in west virginia, i used to take prednisone for my clusters .. it helped this time for about two weeks. then i ran out. backing up i started this episode in feb. but up with it for about two weeks. then could take no more so went to old work place to get records of last episode to show doc at the hospital so i wouldnt have to take the tests over again so then i got my prednisone 20 mgs a day. for 2 weeks then had to see a nother doc a nuro. well had insurance at this time but with having these chs and running out of pills and waiting on doc visit i seemed to get let go for missing to much work cause she came back full force two aday...i couldnt imagine having these every day of my life hell the 6 month episodes are bad enough..and im just hopping for the end ... ive had these all my life and never got an answer on what causes or what to end it.and these erogant and ignorant doc well ive lost my patient.......and im going for now sorry not in the best spirits ...[flash=200,200]URL[/flash]

Sorry to hear about your situation, SH, really sucks. First thing I'd recommend is getting a script for some O2 from the doc, he should at least do that without the tests. The small 'E' tank cost me $65 to rent and a $12 refill gets me through 4 nights of 4 hits from the Beast each night. Good Luck and wishing you PFDAN, Dell

Splittin.... That dosage of Prednisone seems low to me for starters. This medication starts off at much higher dosages and then does a long taper down...It allows a little holiday from the pain. Are you sure it was prescribed to you at 20 mgs per day for 2 weeks? Mia

Your prednisone regimine makes no sense at all. What do you mean you ran out? You finished the taper? Was it even a taper? Heres the West Virginia Medicaid page http://www.wvdhhr.org/bms/
