Does any one know.....

If any sort of mineral or vitiman can mess with the affects of Verapamil. I have been taking verapamil and had good results. I started taking a one aday and calcium and now my head is exploding. And before you say it, yes I have stopped taking the vitimans and minerals, yet still my head explodes. I don't understand why my verapamil has stopped working for now. I am on 540mg per day of extended release Verapamil..which usually tames the bastard. (I know we should never eat gratefruit. Is there any thing in a one aday vitiman that has the same sort of effect as Gratefruit...grasping at straws here..... Jayne

Oh Jayne I am sorry you are getting hit I have no idea if they effect it or not, but you know our meds stop working sometimes and we have to change. You might think about talking to your doctor about uping the verap or changeing meds. God I hope you get better. I sure have missed ya gal. Know I am thinking about ya. If you need anything email me I will be glad to try and help. Hugs

Thank you love.. I went to see him and he said I am having a "chronic flare up" he said that even chronics can have episodic episodes where they are worse than other times. I had botox injections in my head about 8 weeks ago...didn't do much...he said botox injections work on an accumlative way, so I am going in next week for round two of injections. Lemme tell ya it's well expensive, but at this point money v quality of life...it's a no brainer. My saving grace right now has been help from a couple of what I call ANGELS here on this board who have sent me some jabs....My health insurance won't touch me for anything to do with "headaches" so I can't get shit, without paying out the nose for it. So to my ANGELS THANK YOU!!! Fuck, you think you have this bloody thing under control and then he lets you know who is really in charge. Enough of my ranting....

yeah Don I do see your point there...but my doc is a chronic clusterhead himself. He has done the same treatment on himself and he has been HA free for 14 months for the first time in 14 years. So if it was any one else I would be well suspicious. I will let you all know how I am going with the treatment though.

Hi Jayne, sorry you're having a rough time. I kinda don't think vitamins can interfere but I'm not positive. I've been taking vitamins for awhile and the verapamil has been working good, although this past week the shadows have been increasing... very close to CH attack. I feel like howling in sorrow and fear everytime I hear that someone's verapamil has stopped working. Big Fear: chronic + verapamil failure. I hope you get better soon --- Steve, one of many...

Jayne, sorry to see you are back, but hello ne'theless. I have read several posts about lowering the verapamil dose, if only temporarily, to get better effects. This was on the UK board I believe. I have also read posts from people who were better off having the straight vera in stead of the delayed release stuff. And grapefruit? no reason to avoid it as a clusterhead on vera. With grapefruit the body breaks down vera somuch slower. The bio-availability of the working ingredient lasts much longer. Basically, with grape fruit you get more mileage out of a grein of vera. That is why people who take verapamil for heart/blood pressure problems should be careful with grapefruit. Us clusterheads without any bp problems can take as much grapefruit as we like. How is the acting? Let us know how you are. Ave
