If you like music....some questions for you.

I was thinking of this as I made a drive today, listening to music. I'm a little bit of a music freak, and I just got curious about what type of music everyone listens to. I know we've talked on the board about jobs, books, movies....etc. The thread about everyone's ch song was sometime ago, and we have some new people here who might like to answer, and read the other's answers. I had compiled/burned a CD before my trip....just a bunch of my favorite songs. If you were going to burn a CD of your favorite songs......what would they be? What kind of music do you like? Do you listen to different music according to your moods? What is your CH song.......? I know last time this was talked about, I found a whole new list of songs to listen to.......hope it does the same this time........

I like to mix it up with all of the above and add in some - Zeppelin, Metallica, Ozzy, on the soft side Bonnie Rait Bette Middler Babs (cannot forget Billy Joel) a little instrumental by Yani or John Tesh Some show tunes I am partial to Les Miserables or Phantom while I clean house on a fresh spring day.

In the late 60's it was strictly the Beatles the 70's was the Dead, Allman Bros, Stones, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull. the 80's the Dead, REM, Police, Stones, Clash, G'n'R the 90's the Dead, REM, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Alice in Chains. Here I am in 21st century and I'm back to the Dead, Beatles & Stones...and it really has been a long strange trip. Jim

Fun topic Tracey! In the 70's & early 80's it was Rock, Kiss, AC/DC, Boston, Journey, Foreigner, Styx, etc for me. In the mid to late 80's & early 90's I switched over to Rap & Hip Hop...but when I say Rap...I'm not talkin gangsta rap...the beginnings of Rap...Heavy D, LL Cool J, Run DMC, Salt & Pepa, MC Hammer... Mid 90's just started listening to Top 40 stuff I guess you would call it. But in the past 4 years I am now on a Rock/Alternative phase....Creed, Chili Peppers, Staind, Nickelback, Beck, Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, Cold Play, Default, etc....Sometimes I will also switch the station to classic Rock and some old school Soul ie: Earth Wind & Fire, Tower of Power, etc. I'm not too fond of female singers....maybe 'cause I can't hit the high notes!

What about Fleetwood Mac, Led Zepp., Motley Crew, Blood, Sweat & Tears? And Rush? And to scare all you kids, I enjoy Jackie Gleason, Herp Elpert (don't remember the spelling anymore), Montelvani, and the songs of Billy Williams, Barry White, Johnny Ray, Andy Williams, Patti Page, Perry Como, Jerry Vale, Theresa Brewer, Sarah Vaughn. List getting too long.

Tracey, I was really just kidding....but if it's not too much trouble, I would LOVE it! (but please don't go out of your way). I love both "Sex & Candy" and "Wicked Game"...you & I are very simpatico! Unfortunately, when it comes to technology I haven't been brought into the 21st century yet so I don't have a burner yet...even if I did I probably wouldn't know how to use it... V.

I guess I'm a different kind of fish. I go for the classical, primarily symphonic withsome selected opera included. When I'm being hit I want strings, nothing witha driving beat. Other times i get into some of the 50's and 60's stuff. It doesn't get much better than "What a Wonderful World." Interesting topic. jc

hmm... punk is good... but i don't like it too hard core... also a big fan of alternative and 80s music. and it gets turned up loud when i have a headache... call me strange but it gives me something to "try" and focus on other than the pain. lightbulbs are good for that to.... but it's harder to focus my eyes when i'm crying. i have what i call my happy song... polly by nirvana (one of my favorite bands... followed by radiohead and u2)... if you listen to the lyrics it's about a bird that is getting tortured and mistreated, but then there's this one line in the song that makes it very meaningful to me... "she caught me off my guard. it amazes me the will of instinct." the bird breaks free. now if that bird can somehow find a way to get thru all the crap he was going thru... then i just might be able to also. one of my buddies can play it on the guitar... he learned it just for me to cheer me up one day, and he plays it for me every now and then when he knows i need it.
