I thought I had found my cure -- but...

I was wrong. Last Wednesday AM (2:30) the SOB woke me up with a nasty little dance. While pacing, rocking, swearing and begging with the normal right eye going nuts I felt something strange in the inside corner of my eye. I could not see well enough or sit still enough to find out what it was but was concerned. Once I had the CH aborted and was able to see I stared in the mirror and noticed what looked like a hair going into my eye socket. I got ahold of it with a tweezer and started to extract it. That hair was as white as could be and measured 16 1/2 inches long after I got done pulling it out. I thought I was pulling my eye out at times. My eye was pissed for a couple of days afterwards. I thought -- could it be that what I have been suffering for years was caused by that hair. I hoped it was. This morning at 2:30 I found out differently. CRAP!! Where the hell did that hair come from?

Echo, maybe you should stop going to "sin City" with Bob. You never know WHAT you're gonna pick up there. I am sorry that you're getting hit though. Does my apology make up for the fact that I almost fell off my chair after reading your post. ??? LindaH

That is where all the other hair went! Now that it is gone, you will grow all your hair back! Are you sure this wasn't a dream?? Are you sure it was a hair? I wonder if we all grow hair on the inside...? That could explain some things LMAOCFHIME! Sherry

sorry Echo, but gross! It really doesn't sound right that a 16.5 inch 'hair' came out of your eye socket like that. Don't mean to sound nasty or anything, but did you keep it? I mean, for medical purposes only... I'd get myself to a DR ASAP about that one. And if you kept it, bring it with you. Sorry to hear that you're being visited again. pfdans maggie

Echo- See, you thought your hair fell OUT.......That's not it at all, my cueballistic studmuffin.......you have hair that's planted upside down!! Okay, I have to agree- that's pretty gnarly stuff, ech- but more to the point- I think I'd be taking that really long, really white thing to the doc- maybe you pulled out a really important extension cord for your brain. All in all, I just wish that it had been the fix....... Most of all, I'm sending more vibes out to you- you deserve better than the treatment the beast is giving you. BE PF!! yreverlovin' puddin

Talked to my doc and she had three possibilities. A. It was actually a bottom eye lash that grew inward for years. (doubtful, should have caused an infection long before now) B. During the dance I normally grind the hell out of my eye from time to time. I may have picked up a hair from somewhere and ground in behind my eye. (She tought she was reaching on this one) C. Late last summer I had a nasty fall while water skiing, High rate of speed, hit really hard, had water coming out of places it shouldn't. Could have possibly forced a chunk of light weight fishing line or long blond hair behind my eye. Whereas, I was on eye drops to combat the lake water that was leaking from behind my eyes their is the possibility that the drugs killed any possible infection and it just took time to work to the surface. In any event -- it's out, I still have CH. Option 4 - jonny snuck into my basement while I was dancing, disguised as the beast, and crammed a blonde hair into my eye for grins.

Wow ... I really don't know where to begin. First of all, congrats for pulling that big bugger out of your eye. I certainly don't think I would have been doing that ... especially when I saw it was more than just an eyelash size. Secondly ... cool, you actually decided to measure it. Gotta admire a guy that it just isn't enough to have it occur, but then actually want to see how durn big it was. Third ... what!? no pictures? Are you having it mounted to hang over the mantle? Fourth ... I would have guessed it as a parasite rather than a simple hair. Did your doc actually take a look at it under the microscope? I did a quick search of the web and came up with Loa Loa parasite. Were you waterskiing in Africa by chance? ;D Fifth ... Did I say wow? Take care BruceD
