Hey folks.

The beast has unlocked the code.  I've been on a cocktail that includes Depakote, Imitrex (spray),Frova, Amerge, Verapamil and Hydorcodone ( for the really bad ones).  I've used up the O2 and am getting more.

Cycle started about six weeks ago and things were sweet compared to my other cycles.  Now he is pissed and he is kicking my ass hard and often.  It reminds me of the days with no meds.  What's going on here?

I've reached into the meds basket and am about to dive into my special reserve Prednisone.  I'd rather not.....  But..well, you know, I'm addicted to being PF.

It calls for 100mg x 5 days, then 60mg x 5 days, then 40mg x 5 days, then 20mg x 5days and then 10mg x 4 days.  Pretty stout!

Can I start the Pred in concert with all the other meds?

Thanks,

Steve G

Oh, BTW, stubbing you little toe while pacing will not terminate a Cluster Headache.

That's a pretty heavy dose of Pred.  I just had a severe reaction from an NSAID a few days ago.  These things are serious.  Like jonny said, you really need to talk to your doc.  Don't take chances.

If no doc is available tonight, see if your hospital has an "ask a nurse" or something similar.  If not that, talk to an ER nurse.

Good luck to you.  Sorry for your pain.

Jonny and Donna...Ya'll are right.  I'm lucky cause my neuro will see me on the day that I call.   Maybe I'll get an early appointment and take the rest of the day off.  I know that I'll be tired if tonight is like last night.

Thanks much,

Steve

Sorry to hear you're getting bashed.

On the Medications & Treatments board, under Preventative Medications, is a great post by Svenn.  He discusses dosages of Verap, Pred, and Imitrex.

Ask for Imitex injections!  I use the Trex tip (on the left).  It may be time to increase your dosages, at least temporarily, of your other meds.

PFDAN's,
Kate
