Can anyone tell me why WE keep posting of very sad things about our family members going through hard times and no lurkers jump in and offer some support?
If you were lurking wouldnt you have a tear and add some support?
I know even I have been in tears reading some posts and thats not like me, I guess its cause you are my family.
I think the lurkers are fucking Meegrainers......Fuck you, stay on the outside....who needs you?
Im fucking pissed god damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent point Jonny. I wonder that myself. I think its because some of them (not all) are only here to find help for themselves and dont really give a rats ass about other peoples problems.

I am a lurker, I will think this is about me but, though I lurk I post a lot of private messages of support and my heart breaks when I read of people suffering with the pain of clusters and yes, of migraines, and when those close to them are hurting or ill.
I wrote a really long post in reply and really what I wanted to say was simple. I feel most dreadfully unhappy for so many reasons about this thread. One reason is that I think you have a huge heart and every day here offer support and involvement in a in your face but sincere way.
You have a huge presence and persona and though sometimes I genuinely wish I never read one of your tirades (I am hurting badly over the bitch thing, I did not think you were a mysogynist) I believe that the moment someone close to you here expresses pain you are there like greased lightening with the most sincere support.
The most precious support I have received on this board has been in private messages. All the support publicly expressed has been a godsend, a salve and I carry it with me like a security blamket but private messages have broken me down with the kindness and good heartedness that is so generously given. Many of these messages start out with..... "I am just a lurker here but...."
I love these lurkers, they comfort me in huge ways and when I did write about some real life trouble I got very little public support and loads of private messages and emails and I badly needed that.
I cannot be a target, I hope I won't be. I am still too vulnerable and I spent to many years in an abusive relationship to allow it. All I can do is say that I care deeply about people and mostly I can see through anger and abuse to the pain that fuels it.
I write all this having been provoked and that is not necessarily a negative thing. If I am to participate here in a public way I can only do it being real. I do not want to play manipulative or emotion stringing games, those make less of me and of people and of the very real pain that is expressed here and which breaks my heart afresh every time.
But mostly I am a lurker and I do think that your post was generally about lurkers? I think I have had just about enough therapy in my life to last several lifetimes really

Im a full blown episodic cher/ what's a lurker? I can tell u this for 13 plus years I've suffered my cycles/ often w/o ins. This site and my ins have changed everything!!! I'm no longer alone and am educated re meds. I'm in the middle of a cycle and so far pain free.
I am conflicted about what help is appropriate being a newbie/ what do I know?
I try to offer words and prayers. In my heart I want you all to be PF. I'm here!!

And I see a bunch of people who come here and post a lot and yet have to supported but ask for support and just shoot the shit when they're not looking for their own support. But that's "cool." Because your name shows up everyday, even though you add nothing to anyone but yourself.
This was much longer and more specific but I have AOL and just when I was writing everything out I got booted, naturally. Suffice it to say, this also is in reply to Don's post.
Ree's got a good point. She's one of those people who are here day in and out offering help to people, yet the chronic pain she lives with she generally is quiet about and watches it get diminished as "nothing" here everyday. Especially by those who post everyday and don't support AND those who support for applause.

I know what the word means Cootie/ I was curious as to it's context here? reading posts not replying? Was that a condescending reply to my e=mail? That's how it was rec'd.
As a newbie I can tellyou that on and off this site can appear cliqueish? and even angry. The newbie is a desperate/ scared soul, and their social skills are probably at their own personal low.
I was on the chat line a few times where I checked in said hello and then remained quiet not wanting to interrupt an on=going conversation. After a while I would post something/ obviously not on the topic (totally unrelated to ch) because I had no idea what they were talking about (inside personal stuff I assume).
After being ignored a few times I said goodbye.
These odd occurences are far outweighed by the incredible generosity I have rec'd from the site, but be condescending to me? I don't like it.

I feel bad for anyone who comes to this site in pain, doesnt matter to me if its ch or migraines or a broken heart but how can we feel bad for someone that we dont even know exists?

I don't think Ree was saying the post was about her. Ree is tired of Migraine being belittled and treated as if it is nothing. I personally would not want to have migraines...ever! I am thankful that I only get ocular migraines (aura without the pain) Sure, a migraine might not be quite as excruciating as CH, but how would you like a kip 7 for 72 hours straight, with no let up no relief and couple it with light searing your eyes and noises banging your skull any movement sending the throbbing into high gear and nausea and vomiting?
That is something I would NOT want to go through. One of the reasons I can stay sane is that the CH only last a max of 2 hours. 72 hours with head pain and vomiting sounds like pure hell to me.
I have a lot of respect for you people that have migraines and never complain on this board. I have to give you credit for putting up with us.

Thanks Sherry you hit the nail on the head... I'm sick of my condition being belittled... but we all know that. end of story... every now and then I start thinking that we will stop making fun of it on the Message board. Alot of people think it sucks not just me.
...another thing that bothers me is this sudden cultish thing about making people stay here to support after their cycle. People should stay and support if they feel they can and want to not because they get flamed into it...There are those that are afraid to leave or take time off and only one member seems to constantly remind people... so while Im getting my therapy maybe you should get a friggen life. This is not a cult people... If people are enjoying Pain free time all the power to them... Not everyone is a supporter... especially not to me (the Meegrainer)anyways My new nick name is MEE

As for comments about lurkers, I just don't get it. People post or don't post for reasons that are their own. I actually don't even give it much thought. It's none of my business. In my heart, I just can't digest that a lurker at the board is lurking in order to mess with anyone. If you treat a person with respect and dignity and worry about your OWN ways, then there really isn't too much time to judge someone ELSE.

My name is Elaine I am one of the webmaster on HSG Chat and your post upset me. I went throught the logs tonight, and I am here to tell you what you typed about chat was not true. If you are talking about HSG chat. We have some very good supporters in chat. You came in chat on 6/2 was there 52 minutes. You were welcomed there by Michelle the other webmaster ok mistress, everyone spoke to you when you came in. You started talking right off. You said you was PF , that you had both Migraines and clusters, and you said that your migrains were on the right side and your clusters on the left side, and that imitrexed worked for you. You spoke to Happy in PMs , you talked a lot to Joanie, matter of fact you talked to just about everyone in there. Everyone was very nice to you. You asked questions and all your questins were answered.
You came in again 6/6 and you thought Roxy was in the room but she must of left the room before you came in but she did not sign out. When you don't sign out your name stays in the room a while. You was in the room alone thats why noone answered you.
I am very sorry you did not enjoy chat. If you didn't it wasn't because the people did not try to make you feel welcome, its because you didn't want to.
