I had a strange experience with imitrex last night.  Had a shadow that started about 4pm, it got pretty bad.  You know that point where it's not enough to take a shot, but it's bad enough that you really can't function too well.  Hurt to look at the computer screen, didn't want to talk to anyone, couldn't watch TV.  The only strange thing was with this shadow....light and movement were hurting it real bad.....that's not normal for me.   Tried the 02 three or four times,  I finally just gave up and went to bed.....laid there till it climbed on up into the shot range.

When I took the imitex shot, the sharp, red-hot pains stopped after the usual period of time......but the nasty shadow never did stop.....still couldn't sleep.  The shadow never did go away with the shot.......that scares me pretty good.  It should have taken care of a shadow that was that bad.

The thought of it ever not working literally scares the hell out of me.

Last cycle imitrex was my savior.  This cycle it did nothing for me.  The first time I used it this cycle and it didn't work i went into complete panic.  It had always worked in the past.  At first I thought I just used an out of date one, but then I tried it again and nothing.  Now I am using DHE to abort.  The DHE works for now.  Hopefully it will continue to work.

have to say that so far imitrex has always aborted as I needed

It's been I guess about 10 yrs. or so that I've used it to abort....and so far it's always worked.

Hoping it continues although I'm set up to use O2 to blast the bastard on his next trip......wish me luck

I had several HA last cycle that Trex just knocked the wind out of. I was grateful for that. I also have Zomig which was the first Triptan I had. I have had HA's where 2 tabs in an hour never touched it. Seems like everything I ever had stopped working if the cycle is long enough, maybe a tolerance thing.

I got a pretty well stocked arsenal right now, and may need it soon by the way I have been shadowing lately.  Undecided

Has worked for me everytime other than there have been rebound headaches afterwards.  Once or twice i was able to even use the imitrex twice for 3 mg shot as suggested here and it worked also.  But with statdose i have no clue how to stretch the imitrex.  I pray it never stops working and am so sorry to hear for others it wasn't effective this time around.  Relpax has been real effective for me also, and it goes to work much much faster than Imitrex 100 mg pills, it's absorbed much quicker.
