I started smoking when I was 15 years-old. Now 46 years-old... still two packs per day. Smoking has never been a headache trigger for me.

then again I smoked over 30 a day for over 30 years and only got clusters after I gave up two years ago. I can breathe better but I have a whole mass of weight I put on and now suffer from obesity related disorders rather than smoking related (Aye I am fighting to lose the weight)

Got CH when I was smoking in 1969. Quit smoking in 1980. Ch went away in 1991. There ya go........ There is nothing good about smoking. It's been 23 years and I've saved enough money to buy several cars or a small house. Real estate is cheap here. The best thing about quitting is that you don't have to stand outside in blizzards with the other unfortunates. The worst thing is that you become a prick about it like me. No one smokes in my house. Ever. I even hate myself. Charlie

Me? Don't smoke ... never have. That doesn't seem to bother the beast. He seems to be an equal opportunity tormentor. Later BruceD

I've been smoking a pack a day for almost 40 years (yikes!) and currently work selling cigars, pipes and tobacco. Tough to even think about quitting when I work with the stuff. Cigs can trigger for me, but I can also use it as a barometer to see if the attack is over for the night. One small puff and either a shadow appears or it doesn't. Dell

I quit, nothing changed. Even thought about picking it up again. But thought again. Costs too much and my daughter used to say "Mommy you stink". Sop, Now I have a lot of extra money and I don't stink as my soon to be three year old would put it.

My 7 year old doesn't smoke nor is he employed in an environment nor lives in a smoke filled environment. Yet he is CH. I wish it were only that simple.

| They didn't have cluster headaches in the first place. And IMHO, if smoking triggers someone's cluster attack, I have to ask. What are you? Some kind of dumbass? Bob P once said many times "If it hurts, don't do it!"

Never smoked-didn't get CH until I was 45...so go figure. I do have to agree with Charlie- what on earth is good about it? Smelly-expensive- countless diseases linked to it- really seems like an idiotic thing to me....I know that will not win me friends but I am entitled to my opinion. I get so crazy when I see these unemployed, homeless people and what are they all doing?? SMOKING! If they can afford to smoke-they should can get a job- its an expensive habit for a poor person. Sorry-just gets me nuts! There is not a person out there that tells their child to start smoking because its a great thing to do- I'll never get it- and I will never be a slave to a self induced addiction.

The disease thing is part of it but the stink is the worst now. It's gotten harder and harder to be around it. I smoked everything 23 years ago. I do miss one thing: The mechanics of pipe smoking. It's quite a ritual and a testosterone-laden thing. Rough on ya though. Would never do it again. Mean old smoke-free Charlie
