Just posting this for fun.
I know it has nothing to do with CH, just thought it was kinda neat & wanted to share with all of you.

Weird... worked each time I actually did the math but if I just picked a number from the list..it was wrong.
Must be one of those obscure (to me LOL) math things where when you do this and this it is always this... but what I don't get is if it shows different stuff for different totals how does it know which one to pick?
Too cool. Someone smart please check this out and tell me how it works! LOL

By adding the two digits together and subtracting from the original number, the resulting number is always evenly divisible by 9. If you check the chart, all numbers that are evenly divisible by 9 have the same symbol. Therefore, one symbol is 'correct' for every number on the board, assuming the math is done correctly.

I got ya on the evenly divisible by nine, but if all numbers that are evenly divisible by nine are the same symbol, why did I get different symbols, and how does it know which one I picked?
I just know I am being incredibly stupid here LOL. Course I didn't go back and look, maybe it will become clear...

It's like a magician's trick. A little bit of illusion, a little bit of misdirection and BINGO, the audience is mystified. KNowing the way they do it takes the fun out of it, but here's what your missing.
Like Grant said, if you do the math right, you'll always pick a number on the charts that is divisible by 9. Every time the chart is shown to you, it looks different, but one thing is always constant. Every number on the chart that is divisible by 9 has the same symbol. So, no matter what, you'll be picking that symbol and that symbol will be shown by the crystal ball. Every time the chart is generated, all other numbers have randomly chosen symbols, and all of the divide/9 numbers have some random symbol, all the same.
Now does it make sense?
