Could clusters be just a symtom?

I was thinking about DJ, and me and others who have had other illness. Could our bodys be using clusters to let us know something is wrong?
Maybe its something that happens only every two years. For chronic maybe its something that we can't shake. That just hasn't shown up yet.
I know I have been pain free for a long time be a year in Step. Why all of a sudden after 22 years??? DJ has also ben pain free from what I understand.
Just some thoughts I have been having! I am glad to be pain free but sure wish I knew why!

One solution comes to mind -maybe it is the hardening of the arteries... If they can't swel like they used to, they maybe can't make the nerve hurt like before.

And maybe that's why doctors say it'll wear off when you get older.

Any older (40+) folk who lost the pain, and still have the best eleastic arteries in the world? For that would shoot my theory down.

Oh and btw, apart from clusters I am usually disgustingly healthy.

And good to see you actively posting again. Shame you won't be at the convention.

Elaine,

This isn't very scientific, but maybe it's because a higher power knows you and DJ already have enough to handle.

This may be the best answer I have ever seen.

For the last ten years or so my HA had gradually DECREASED in both severity and duration, untill last year. Then I got hit with the worst attack I have had in years, and I am still getting daily shadows, and "jabs". I had hoped to pull a Charlie and get better with age, I guess not, at least not right now!

Agreed Mark, I've had a pretty nice ride (if you can call it that) in the last ten years since I been on meds that work for me. Last nite I got hit worse than I ever been hit during the 14 years I had no meds, everything I learned here and what I know failed. Meds, 02, ice pack....Everything!!

I got religeon real quick last night (theres no ahtiests in fox holes) (SP?) After 28 years chronic I think last night was the closest I ever came to offing myself, could be that I have had it easy with meds that work I forget tha bad times. could be that the meds are starting to fail.

I do know one thing and that is ill never go back to nothing working!

I've been free of this horror for twelve years.  They got less frequent for a couple years but 1991 was my first entirely PF year. I was 45. Now I'm 56 and just as dumb as before. I have no idea what my arteries are doing. Undecided

Great question.  I know I surely don't have the answer.

I don't think the age and the arteriosclerosis (I love big words ;D ) idea really hits it though.  I was episodic for about twenty three or four years and went chronic March 02 at age 47.  If my arteries hardening has anything to do with it I'll go back on a high fat diet!!! ;D

I came down with type 2 diabetes four years ago, lost fifty pounds, and got my sugar level back down in the normal range until these HA's started rocking and rolling.  I've gained almost twenty pounds back and my sugar is getting a little higher.  Would there be any correlation there?  Any other Type 2's out there?

Jonny,

I don't know how *anybody* could endure a Kip10 for any extended period and *not* think of suicide.  Those who don't understand this have never experienced Kip10, that's all there is to it.  Kip10 is 'please kill me now' kind of pain, and you mean it seriously.  The only reason I am still alive is at Kip10, I can't function well enough to get my gun, and make sure I do the job right.  In all liklihood, I'd mess it up and make everybody else pay for it until I really died.  Imagine being a paralyzed in a wheelchair, AND THEN having a Kip10.

Hope it goes back to 'normal' for you.
