This is pretty surprising to see some common sense so uncommon in Hollywood. Robin Williams' plan.... I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan: 1) The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. We will promise never to "interfere" again. 2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No more sneaking through holes in the fence. 3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. France would welcome them. 4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 day visits unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself, don't hide here. Asylum would not ever be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers. 5) No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home, baby. 6) The US will make a strong effort to become self sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while. 7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere". They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides, most of what we give them gets "lost" or is taken by their army. The people who need it most get very little, anyway. 9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, it would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens. 9b) Use the buildings as replacement for the twin towers. 10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer. Now, ain't that a winner of a plan. "The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'You want a piece of me? Robin Williams

Robin Williams is one smart dude. The humor of this is lost on people who take it as a serious plan. His is pointing out that it doesn't matter how much good we do as a nation (sorry, 'interfering'), the critics will always find a way to bash us. Imagine the fun the critics would have if we actually tried to address their concerns.

Jonny said to keep it comical; hard to do with a post like RW’s. I think Mr. Williams is being sarcastic, I just happen to agree with several of his points. I get tired of the American bashing and even more tired of the Americans who think we deserve it. I was visiting my grandfather in the Midwest and was very surprised to see a picture of Pres. Nixon on the wall (he was a fairly liberal person). I made some stupid crack (I was 10) about him liking the California conservative. I never saw him so mad. He said that it was a picture of the President and then he stormed off. My father told me that there was always a picture of the current President in my Grandfather’s house. He believed election time was the time to be vocal about opposition and then you support the winner. I don’t agree 100% with any of the Presidents, but this bashing each of them is completely out of control. Just bash me. LOL SteveK

Thanks Jonny. Has somes yucks but this thing rang a bell. It's one of several supposedly attributed to Williams but not his. Sounds a bit like the "new" Dennis Miller but I don't think that will wash either http://urbanlegends.miningco.com/library/bl-williams-plan.htm Mean old Charlie

You mean when people write their tripe and attribute it to someone who has spoken out for the complete opposite side, it's not real? So this isn't really Charlton Heston? "I find picking lilies quite enjoyable. I was bending over a servant of mine and while driving my dick into him I was thinking over that second amendment thing. It DOES say " a well regulated militia and doesn't just say 'any whacko with a right wing cause.' Forgive my nonesense. As you can see alzheimers was kicking in. I want to relinquish control to those who are not as idiotic as I've shown myself to be/ Good luck finding one."

I don't care if Robin wrote it or not, it's humorous. Quite a bit of it I would like to see implimented. SteveK you were right on with the story about your grandfather. I would like to have gotten to know him. I remember my father coming home from work crying one day. He heard on the car radio about JFK being shot. He HATED JFK and when I asked him about it he said "He was still MY president." That made a big impact on me as a snot nosed nine year old. GW is not always right, but right now he is MY president. In a couple of years we can decide again who will be MY president. thanks for a good post Jonny! the not being political jc

I love it. A bunch of right wingers trapped in their own trap. I bet you all HATE Ken Starr. That evil man was not supporting our president, though he didn't vote for him. I bet you all hate Newt Gingrich. I bet you all hate Dan Quayle. I bet you all hate Rush Limbaugh. I bet you all hate George Savage. Here were men who, after the vote was all over, tried to take down a president and not wait till a couple of years passed to just wait for the system to get a new vote. And CK? Probably didn't get too teary eyed when Kennedy was shot. Thanks for those little bursts of patriotism-lies, but save it. GWB is a murderer and embezzler. And he probably supplies young children to priests too, if they donate to his re-election campaign.

Jonny...i'll respect yer request to see the humor and not comment on the politico angle....I enjoy well written political, religious, sexual, gross ....humor. Most of it though is simply veiled serious shots. I still get a chuckle when in responce to my anti-war posts you posted a picture of the eagle giving me the finger. That was funny! peace and love den

I agree Jonny. That was a hilarious and pretty famous photo. Clinton was definitely fun to be around. There is nothing this good or as much fun about Dubya because his handlers run the most secretive and most un-American administration since the Civil War. Dubya's propaganda ministers let nothing get by. President select Bush makes me long for Nixon or Reagan. Bush's dog evidently had more success. A dickless Bush would explain why he has become a rectal aperture of unimaginable proportion. It's as close as he can get. Charlie
