Hey, all, soooo, got a message from "the kids across the pond"- they're thinking of coming stateside, for a visit.....perhaps in the fall. I think we should all encourage this, by teling them what they would find in each state. It's kinda like the Olympic Committee choosing a location for the next games.....soooo, I'm gonna start with my bid: Hey, Boormans! Nothin but wonderful on the West Coast- particularly in Oregon! Sure, you coyld go to So CA, visit Disneyland(twins would likely hate that)- visit Universal Studios (ya won't see any movie stars, trust me......then there are beaches.....and that's about it! Here, one state to the north, we have rivers, and a gorgeous, craggy coastline(complete with rainbows), we are the official End of the Oregon Trail....and we have covered wagons to prove it. Besides, if you come to Oregon, there's ME! How could ya not? So, come to Oregon in Oct.....or come for Thanksgiving! We'll have the light on! Cathi

BobG-The Vette out? In Oregon? In NOVEMBER? There's a MUCH higher likelihood that I'll be out in the rain! The Vette emerged Fri- pretty decent till late day.......better weather yesterday....if this holds up, it'll be out all spring/summer.....but NOV? What in the WORLD are ya thinkin', Bob? 'Sides, remember? You like the street thingamajiggies! "Course, we COULD race for pink slips -Tell your grandson to hurry up building that thing! As for Thanksgiving- it's a bit early, but suuuuure- c'mon down! We're gonna need a few extra chairs.....and we NEVER share the white meat.....but let me know if you're coming.....oh, and ya might want to bring a side dish!!!!! Frank, that's why I LOVE Lost Wages! See, it's the adult Disneyland- and I generally win more than I spend.....soooo....the only way to do that at Disneland is to treump up an airtight lawsuit of some kind, and win. Oh, ummmm, we get in for free- my neice is the head of the Event Planning dept.......not so bad, at that price.....and, NO, BobG, we WON"t be getting you in free! Happy to acommodate- to a point!Cathi

Race for pinks, huh? Your Vette and my pro-street T? No. I'm a gentleman and I don't want to embarrass you or destroy your husband’s manhood. I’d be ownin’ a Vette and you’d be searchin’ for a Pinto. But, on second thought, goin' topless in a Vette in November in Las Vegas is do-able.

Topless in July and August? You'll get a nasty sunburn where you don't really want a nasty sunburn. Please leave the top on. It will really save your upholstery, if you get my drift. And whinnin' to Linda won't help. She knows a T roadster will suck the doors off a Chebby Vette anyday. Now pucker up and say ZOOOOOOMMMMMM

Okay, so, if you're coming to the Pacific Northwest, by Halloween, it's getting kinda nasty-lots of fog, somewhat rainy, chilly/damp/cloudy.....ummmm, just what YOU'RE accustomed to....so, cool! Echtually(that's me English accent), August/Sept. would be ideal, weatherwise, although, if you end up in SoCA, it can get quite warm-ish-and humid & smoggy if you're in the right areas.......stay coastal, you'll be fine......OR, just come on up!! Or, or, we COULD all end up in Reno or Vegas, or Tahoe!! Yeah, we all converge somewhere!! So, there it is! We'll be in Crescent City, taking advantage of BobG(racing for pink slips)-on the coast, ast the CA/OR border, last weekend in Oct. Linda Howell will be there- it's not a hard trip for BonnieK.....and it's a long weekend- Columbus Day(I'll explain that to you in another post, Cath). Wine & seafood festival, cruise in, dance, great music- the town parties the entire weekend.....and we could say, "well, it's all for the Boormans"!

Oh, and Linda, well, I'm not tooo worried, she's got a FORD!!!!(well, a Merc-same diff) Zoomin your parts off........ ;D ;D ;D Cathi

Zachery says "Grandpa, when can we get this car built? I'm almost four and a half and probably will be in kindergarten before I even get to drive it." I'm going to Vegas in about an hour from now, as soon as I get off work. Won't be working on the roadster though. Have a date with a lady from Colorado and her husband. My wife says we're going to the Mirage for Chinese. Hmmmm...best sweet and sour fish in town. Zoom-Zoom

If you hadn't spent so much money on the "amazing car inna box", you could go across the street to Harrah's, and eat steak & lobster at The Range!!! Go to Vegas, Bob.....and, for Zachery's sake- get that car built- he's not gonna be 4 1/2 forever , yknow!!!! Michael already takes the Vette for regular spins- and he's been doin it since HE was 4 1/2.....finds it tough to reach the steering wheel when he's strapped into his car seat. Bob, have a great dinner with your friends. Cathi

Hi Cathi et al What's the deal about making money in Las Vegas? We lost loads on the Strip, then went to Sam's Town and won it all back. We were told they have better odds in Sam's town, and it certainly seemed like it to us. On my list for Cathy and Wes would be Disney and Universal for them, never mind the kids! Avoid the rest of LA other than maybe the beaches/Santa Monica and some amazing restaurants. Can't remember the names but there was one where it was a 'Happy Days' type 50's diner with dressed up waitresses who rollerskated and sang, and one called 'Musso and Franks', and a famous one with huge sandwiches. San Francisco tour- all the sights, Golden Gate Park and Alcatraz and the Piers with hot crabs and drinks in the Brew Pub and dinner in Mae's Oyster Bar. Vegas, Mirage, Luxor etc etc etc, Hoover Dam, Sequioa National Forest, Zion National Park, Bryce and Grand Canyon (stay at Bright Angel) Death Valley, Big Sur and on and on and on. The best memories ever. We never made it as far north as Yosemite and the wine regions or as far south as San Diego or the deserts (have been to Scottsdale though), but would love to next time we come. I am working on my husband to come over again asap, maybe even this autumn, but we can't lose the kid unfortunately. I'll stop now, sorry, got into golden memories mode. I am eversosorry you left money at the Strip- personally, Sam;s Town, although a locals favorite, is waaay too country for my taste. Tell ya what, I'll go to Vegas and see if I can get your money back.....okay? Cathi

Yeh Cathi! You beat the odds for us and win! Lost loads in Mirage, couldn't afford that show with the two permatanned, facelifted 'men' with tigers after that. Forgotten their names again. Oh yes, Siegfried and Roy. Tickets were about £100 each! I thought Sam's town seemed a bit more 'real', but then what could be less 'real' than Vegas! Food was great and cheap there too. We had a really pathetic photo taken of me and my husband dressed in Old West gear in Sam's Town. I look f..ing terrible. Husband looks rather dashing, sod him. W the B

Hi cootie, we'd love to come to the convention but the way things are with Wes at the moment I think it'd be too soon for him to fly, also getting 4 kids looked after is no easy task, wes's brother has sorta said yes, so he'll need a few months to prepare .....lol I think aiming for the festivities at the end of October sounds good to us! btw...to the axe murderer thankyou..!! Welcome you are. Very welcome If you come in the fall, move in with Jonny and run around New England. I still like it. Also, fall is the best time to see San Francisco. Summer gets going there in September. If you go, take the ferry to Marin County across the bay. Cheap and a terrific little ride. Other than San Francisco, I only know the east. I'm 450 miles west of New York and about 90 from Niagara Falls. If you go there, go to the Canadian side. Ours side is a mess. Take some time to see the middle of this place. It's cheaper too. We'll ieave the light on for ya. Charlie

Cat-I get it! Clark was just another little kid, following us big kids around everywhere........ Okay, truth- Crescent City is only our home for about 5 days every year. There is a great car cruise-in Columbus Day weekend, along with a wine festival and a fanstastic end-of-summer dance.he weather always seems to hold our for one more weekend, and the town swells to huge proportions, and all the residents come out on the street to watch all the cars "parade" thru town after dark-some even manage to garner the attention of the local police We have a ball every year-and this year, we're even trying to talk Cathy & Wes into showing up on their GREAT WEST COAST ADVENTURE!!! Wes is into jagg-U-ahrs, y'know!!! I think he needs to experience some real Amurican machinery, don't you? Ya think Clark's family would be willing to "put up" some furriners, Cat? Cathi
