wiggin' bad on topamax

I finally tapered up to 100 mg/day. I take it right before I go to sleep. If I don't fall asleep right away and it starts to kick in I start to lose it. Its like I lose control of my thoughts and start to blank. I start to zone out bad and can't get a grip. I start out on a thought and the thought takes on a mind of its own and I can't control it. Similar to a bad trip. But different, more pure. Thursday was really intense and hard to deal with. I went through similar problems with depakote before I adjusted to it, but nothing like this. With depakote it was more like depression and I could control it better. Topamax is more weirded out. Anyone else experience sim type symtoms? Hoping I can adjust to the side effects, because the topamax seems to be helping me out a lot with my latest cycle. thx - MarkV

Topamax is terrific anti-seirzure drug. It worked 100% for me but it turned my brain to jello. It's a weird drug and if it bothers you, dump it. Jonny is right. Take care Mark Charlie

When i was on it,my mind was so fuckin twisted. I had a very hard time functioning-wise( instead of 8 cyl. i was probably running on maybe 2 if even that much ). If there was a debate between drywall and myself, the drywall would of won. As far as my oun exp.with topamax- "it was worthless" I wish you luck.

I' ve been taking Topamax for six weeks. 25mg, 50mg, now 75mg for the past week. I take it at bedtime. This past week I noticed that I didn't get much done at work or at home either. I just went to work and put in my time... thought about all of the stuff I had to do... prioritized it... scheduled it... printed stuff and forgot to read it or file it... and then didn't do most anything. I even took off Friday afternoon. F*ck! Now I'm even more behind.

| Me too. I quit taking it after a month. Took another month for my sense of taste to return....rat poison. Didn't help my head either. PFDAN's Mark C.
