What made my day...

What made my day... The other day while I was sitting out in the sun , having a beer , watching a hockey game on TV (without freezing my a$$ off ), the thought that hit me was "Isn't life great?" This is with possible unemployment and probable bankruptcy around the corner. (No, this wasn't added in to whine!!!) Point being, it didn't take much to make my day (probably the same with most of you). Instead of usually hearing a lot of negative $hit, its always nice to hear the positive. Another thing that comes to mind right now is the absence of fighting on the board in the last little while. Anyone else? Anything happen, big or small, to make your day? grant

Grant... You are absolutely right, life is great and I think all the other shit that is thrown at you slides into insignificance when you realise that the gift of life itself is so precious, having recently gone through wes's heart attack with him and to still have him here with me puts everything into perspective.....also today I came home to my dinner on the table, cooked by my 15 year old son....no doubt I'll find out what he wants later...lol Cathy

Good post Grant, Although nothing out of the ordinary happened, it was a good day. I got the grass cut, walked the dogs, did some bbq ing, and like you, watched some hockey. Could've been much worse I guess. Seems like the older I get, the easier I am to please. And yes, the infighting has not been missed so...... STAY AWAY MichaelC! Hope you all have a great pf weekend! My husband rode into work with me today (took the hour and a half ride) just to make sure that I did not have any problems with this seizure stroke symptom stuff i'm having. We just got back from lunch. It was quite nice. I'm taking off early to pick up my 2 1/2 year old daughter and tomorrow going to pick up my step son from his moms. Nothing could be better in such maddness than knowing that everyone is safe in their beds at night and that all of the love under one roof gets you through!! To all that are suffering I say this Look at someone you love and heave a sigh to know that you are there to love them.

I was playing golf yesterday afternoon and me and one of my boys were sitting in the cart waiting for another person to take their shot. My friend looked at me while puffing on his cigar and said: "Where would you rather be right now"? "Nowhere" I said. I played terribly yesterday, but that stayed with me all day. Perspective is everything.

| That was quite a game. I couldn't make it past the 4th O.T...had to work today but I thought they might still be playing when I got up this morning the way it was going. Actually the Ducks won it in the 3rd O.T. so justice prevailed in the end. Jim

Reading this thread made my day!! Work is busy but good. The alternative to busy is bad, IMHO. Don't think I'll get any fishing done this weekend but I have plans for yardwork, housework, networking my home PC's and, best of all, car shopping for da spousal unit. Time to trade in the Miata for something a little bigger and faster. Baby needs a new set of wheels...convertible style!   Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. Lets put it this way. Willie Nelson called and asked if he could put the last 6 months of my life into lyrics. Would make a top hit country song. Has all the ingrediants. Know what i say? FUCK IT ! Piss on yesterday, piss on tommorow. As long as I still have a pulse today I got a fighting chance ! Quote:This is with possible unemployment and probable bankruptcy around the corner. YEAH! We're buying our first house, and will be moving Tuesday (this is Friday) .. This is like - well - we just thought we would NEVER be able to buy a house, and it's scarey, and awesome, and scarey, and I just cant wait to sit on my new deck and drink a beer in the sun.. ya know?? things can't go fast enough and yet, they're going too fast, and i HATE moving, but I'm glad we're moving.. and I have to paint paint paint, and move and pack and clean and paint, and moving sucks.. but wont have to do it again.. thank god.! And ... LOL... all the stress has kept the beast away from Ramon for the time being.. WOO HOO.. he's supposed to be in another cycle right now.. so HA HA and Kiss OFF to the BEAST!@ HA HA HA. anyhow.. yes, Grant, it's sometimes.. just the small things that make life wonderful. I cant wait to be settled in so I can enjoy small stuff! cuz this one's pretty big.. for us anyway. WOO HOO BTW.. would you guys SLOW DOWN?? with all the schtuff i'm doing, i can't keep up on the board. I know I missed a lot, and wont be able to get caught up if you guys dont SLOW DOWN!!!... lol I love you guys!! Uppidy Bitch.. (thanks Jonny!!) Tina

Congrats to you Tina & Ramon on the new house!!! I know what a pain it is to move BUT once you're in you have from now on to get everything how you want it. Those beers on the deck are gonna taste pretty good once you get settled in. Keep that stress level up Ramon, it'll keep the beast at bay. Jim ps looking forward to seeing you guys soon
