It can't do any harm, but as you say, It can hurt. I used to sniff. Less pain. I don't think the two are related other than proximity. Makes sense to ask though. Charlie

My nose gets stuffed, yet the almight drip. When I blow my nose - it's just clear snot. My doctor says that is my brain creating that snot so that I will blow my nose in order to releive pressure in my head. Who knows - I have to blow my nose or I'll go crazy. Unforturnatly, now my nose is always chapped and red!

Hi everyone. Welcome to lirrgirl14 and Cheyenne. I may be incorrect, but I believe the stuffy/watery nose is due to activation in the nervous system. So too is the burning/watery eye. There are nerves in the face which control those functions. So although blowing your nose may (or may not) feel good, I don't think it will relieve the symptoms (or any kind of pressure in the head). The stuffy/watery nose of a true clusterhead is a neurological symptom and is not caused by sinus pressure. I know what you mean, Cheyenne. I hate not being able to breathe clearly, especially when trying to go to sleep. It drives me crazy, and then I do try to blow my nose alot.

When I first started getting these #@#%! headaches, I thought that the pain would finally go away..."If only I could get this crap outta my nose. I still do that today. I know deep in my mind it doesn't have any effect. But like they say..."It's all mind over matter. If you don't mind, it don't matter." During a #@#%! headache, I don't have a choice it's either blow my nose or it's gonna run all over wherever I'm sitting. (sorry to anyone that's snacking while reading this.) Whether it being good or bad... I've been doing it for over 20 years and besides a little insanity, I'm fine. Jim P.S. Welcome aboard...

Jim........ "it's either blow my nose or it's gonna run all over" Did you ever wonder why God gave us a runny nose then placed it upside down right over our mouth?
