VA...Servicemembers....No Insurance or very little

I do not know how many of you are honorably discarged vets and have no insurance but here is some information for you.

I have recently found out that if you are honorably discarged and have little or no insurance that you can get help from the VA Hospitals at NO COST TO YOU. You will have to sit though allot of BS but if your hurting and need the help they WILL give it to you. The VA has started a new program that assigns you to a primary doc and they do what ever they can to get you the meds and care you need.

You need to gather any and all information that you have about the CH such as old scripts, Medical files and the like and take them with you to the VA. Have your DD214 on hand as well or you might as well walk out the door because they will not help you.

I have now gone just over one year with no way to get any meds for myself or O2. Thanks to a very special person on this board I was sent a few injections to help me get through for a bit. Out side of that I would either suffer through or use what little I had in pill form which you all know that never helps.

The VA has given me new hope and a way to fight the Beast. PLEASE if you are a servicemember go to the VA and get the help you have earned. That is what they are there for.
Who knows, you may be able to get enough that you will have extra to help others on here as well.

Thats interesting Dave.
My son has been led to believe that he can go to the VA hospital but they charge you according to your income. Nobody has ever mentioned to him a "no cost to you". I will have him check further into this now.
Thanks,
suzy
