I always get them from sun glare when I am driving in the late afternoon.  I also noticed that if I am in the hot sun I will start to develop shadows.  I think sun could be one of my triggers.

Heat triggers my ch.  I find the heat from the sun will make me misserable.  I also get ch from oven heat, indoor heat, heater in a car, working outside in garden, etc.

I thought that bright sunlight was triggering shadows until I realized they were not shadows but migraines. I guess for me the worst migraines are only 1/4 of the pain of clusters.

Heat will DEFINATELY trigger a h/a for me.  It sucks cause I'm a beach lover.  I've actually had to go from beach to ER.  Even if I'm getting overheated in a room it can trigger, but heat from the sun will trigger.  Wendy

I am an avid boater. Over the last two seasons in the Midwest I could barely get out on the boat due to Sun firing Cluster.

For me it had nothing to do with heat just the bright sunshine. Same this winter, I prayed for cloudy days.

Worse than Sun for me is high intensity flourescent lights like those found at target stores. Instant cluster in 10 minutes when I went there for Xmas shopping last season.

Weird part about it is if I do not have the hemicrania continua HA then Sunlight does not bother. FLourescents always do.

Doc's I have seen have no clue.

The bright light of the sun or any heavy light will trigger me into a migraine. If I do not catch it fast enough I will roll right into a CH from hell. I have to have extra dark shades on all summer and even when we have a bright sunny winter day. Cold is a wonderful thing for me but heat is murder.

Try Maui Jim. http://www.mauijim.com/mjweb/public/index.jsp   They're pricey but worth it. E-mail me and I can order a pair a lot cheaper than your local retailer.
The older I get the more the sunlight bothers my eyes hence I wear sunglasses on cloudy days. And when I'm in cycle...forget it. No light, no sound, no motion (except for my rocking/pounding/etc.).

;D ;D ;D for almost 8 years I lived on the water, I sailed 250-350 days out of the year, I never had the heat or the sun trigger an attack, in fact I reduced down to a managable average, I was tanned so dark that when I had to go to wisconsin to get the Grandkids everyone stared at us like we were from another planet or something, I had to ask someone why and thay said, Your tan, Man, Your tan!
However driving with the sun shining through trees in a broken pattern, similar to blinking would trigger them everytime! Never wore sun block or sun Glasses?

Only one problem with the good idea. They won't stay on my face when skiing or tubing or air chairing.

My current Sunglasses do the job when I am not doing any of the above but if I skip theplay it just not worth boating

And I  Can't fish worth a damn when  on a Slalom ski ;D
