I'll start with 5:30am (forgetting about using the O2 three or four times in the middle of the night last night). Got up, got the kids up, fed them, got everybody dressed, took kids to school, went to work, etc, etc... Heavy shadows around 10:30am... still can work. Was pretty bad 15 minutes later... can't work... headed to my office for some O2. Closed the door and turned on the O2 for about 15 minutes. There... that's better, back to work. At 5:00pm, got off work and headed to the pharmacy to pick up my Topomax refill. I've been on it 3 weeks... now 50mg/day. I haven't notice any improvement. On the way there, I felt another attack coming on. By the time I was out of the store I was up to Kip6-7... still had to pick up my kid at after-school club. Good thing the guy at the checkout counter didn't say something like "have a nice day". By the time I picked my kid up it was at Kip 8... and Kip 9 (and climbing) when we got in the van. No way was I driving home. So I told my eight year-old son that dad has another headache and I need to take some medicine for it. I got out the Imitrex injection kit and ripped off my shirt (can't push my shirt sleeve up far enough to do my arm with my shirt on)... loaded up the syringe... and proceeded to give myself a Imitrex injection in the van... in the school parking lot... with my eight year-old son watching. He wanted to know if I'l be alright, and will we have to walk home? I assured him that dad will be alright in a few minutes. Well, I can't yell or moan or curse or groan or any of those uncool things in front of my son, so I turned on the stereo in case I let any of those things out... maybe he wouldn't hear. After we sat for about 7-8 minutes, the Imitrex kicked in and I was able to drive home. I headed straight for the O2 tank to finish it off while my son told mom the horror story about dad giving himself a shot in the van in the school parking lot. I missed dinner again tonight... third time this week I think. Nothing special about today... most are about as fucked up the past few months.

Luckily for me I'm out of cycle. I discovered headachesupportgroups' chatroom but at "chathours" (8-10 pm in the USA) is late night or early dawn over here. So I watch over your dream now. It was 20 Celsius two days ago - a wonderful spring. And it's snowing now. What a fucking weather! I intended to do the backyard in this weekend but I don't want to disturb the penguins there

sorry bout your day Frank.. Mine arent any better. This is the second weekend in a row that Im not able to have my 2 kids..Last weekend after I picked them up I got hit hard and had to pull over and inject. Then had to call their mom to come and get em I was getting hit every couple hrs. This cycle seems to be my absolute worst. I finally got the 02 and it works.. but to my stupidity I thought the med store was open today but it isnt so Im out until Monday. I had to break down again and buy some injections.. thats 3 times this week. I learned my lesson big time about running out of 02. Hope things get better for the both of us. Its a helpless feeling when your kids are around and the beast hits.. They dont seem to understand... PFDAN Chuck

Frank and AH, Hang in there boys, better days ARE ahead. It's a rough road, but your family here understands and is happy to listen. Both of you close your eyes and imagine us giving you a great big hug! Jonny, that's a lesson I learned the hard way too! Tanks says 500psi and I make that phone call. Cat

That was a real hard read. Makes me count my blessings that for now Verapamil has rendered me painfree or with pain so infrequent and minimized that a quick hit of O2 and/or a couple Midrins never let it take hold. My honey Georgia is chronic. I'm in awe of those who keep on doin life through the pain. hope the sun rises on a better day for you. Walk in the sunshine den

Frank, really sorry you had such a horrible day. I know it will get better for you, as they say, there is light at the end of the tunnel for you. It's so hard to get hit like that in front of your little boy, it is so hard to contain in situations like that. You should be proud that you did. Hoping you go PF real soon, sending thoughts your way, Tracey

Frank, Sounds like you handled it well considering, a 9 with the kid in the school parkin' lot has its possible implications. All that could have been worse would be a teacher callin' five-o and having to explain to him you have a headache LOL something tells me they just wouldn't understand ..... Hopin' your PF soon Sean P.S. I keep a small can of 02 in the truck for emergency's what do ya think? Its better than road rage : )))
