Extra meds

Hypothetical question. Suppose an individual fills a prescription for, say, Amerge, and their cycle ends after using only about 10 of the 20 doses. What should that individual do with the un-used 10 doses, if, hypothetically, the person didn't care for leaving them on the shelf for a year or (hopefully) longer?

A times in the past, some hypotheical meds have been mentioned on this board as needing to be relocated.  Other board members have offered their house for this relocation.  What happens from there is only known to the relocator and relocatee.

This is not condoned nor encouraged by the managment but we are glad that clusterheads are such generous people.

It strikes me that one might wonder, out of curiosity's sake, how such a shady arrangement would be made?

Supported by copy of RX upfront,  to ensure the sendee is not going to accidently kill someone who should not use the drug.

Once confirmed - UPS, Fedex or US Mail.

One would usually post a post saying,

I know a guy who has a few extra tabs of Amerge that he he is going to throw away.  If anyone here uses Amerge and would like to talk to my friend, please e-mail me (not me but CJ) and I'll put you in touch with him.

If they don't understand this then they don't deserve them.

Actually, this is a genereous gesture but not really advised.  My friend has relocated extra meds a few times and always feels useasy afterwards.  What if the dude ODs or something.  Anyway, my friend doesn't relocate anymore.

MY friend has done this with Verapamil and Maxalt several times. Some of HIS friends have kindly returned the favor in times of need.

I think a lot of it boils down to WHOM you feel comfortable with, but yes there are always potential risks dealing with hypothetical situations.........

You want to send them with no note enclosed "here are the drugs that you asked me to send". Just send them... no expanation required. A fake return address isn't necessary either... you might just be sending them to yourself in advance of visiting the addressee at a later date.

It is one thing to be generous, it is another thing, altogether, to be liable.

Is there not some program whereby meds can be legally donated and subsequently distributed to those in need? Failing that, some nameless individual, might, hypothetically, and after sifting through the archives, elect to just send a "letter" to Jonny and assume that they would somehow be productively disposed of. Hypothetically, of course.

If anyone want to hypothetically and productively distribute unwanted, unneeded, excess Stadol NS -- let me know.
