The girl scouts are selling cookies here in the Los Angeles area ( hopefulley its a nation wide thing ). They have a program that you can purchase the cookies and they will send it out to our "Boys and Girls" in the middle east. If you feel like me ( guilty) that i am here and they are there. I guess what i am trying to say is, it made me feel as if i did something for our kids out there ( the only mistake that i think i made was - the cookies that i picked out for them all had chocalate ) hopefulley that 100 degree plus wont melt them completeley. So start hunting for the local girl scouts and see if they have that program by where you live ( do it for the troops ).

One point I would like to make on this...It's nice the Girl Scouts are doing this for the troops. Hopefully they got the logistics covered on getting these food shipments to our soldiers. But please...do not send food packages to soldiers unless you have their name & APO or FPO. They will normally never be delivered, if you don't. During war, particularly, there is a large amount of equipment that needs to be sent to our troops and "flooding" the shipments can make it difficult and timely for our troops to get what they need. It can become a logistic nightmare. So if you know a soldier that's out there...by all means send them some homemade brownie's & don't forget items they can use like sunscreen, shaving gear, and other toiletries. But if you don't know them...it's far better you just send a letter or include them in your prayers. Jim

As far as the logistics of getting it there ( thats covered ).One of the fathers of one of the girls showed me some paper work on that ( if i remember correct it goes to our local reservist in El Monte,Calif. to San Diego,Calif. and from there to the middle east ).

I can clearly remember my time during the Southeast Asia War Games. The most important thing the troops needed was a letter from home........anybody's home! And a recent copy of the local newpaper. Thanks Lenny.
