I saw this somewhere: Quote:Jonny is probably gonna say I don't have CH (but if he does, I'll kick his ass ). My CH pain is far away from the eye, just below the checkbone |
| Maybe you're having a toothache??????? Is it on both sides????????

Thank you very much, Terry, for pointing out the difference. Isn't it better to suffer 4 years of chronic tooth ache instead of 4 years chronic CH, ass-hole?

Hey terryllch, I'm glad to see that you are studying anal diseases, so you know what to expect when you crawl in the ass of the biggest scam artist hitting this board in a long time. And good luck with your neck rubbing to relieve your tension headaches.

Hi Everyone, my name is Joni. I am not sure if I have cluster headaches or not, but I sure wish someone would help me and for that matter, HEAR ME! I have had migraines for years, but this is different. I have called them eye-graines, because they are not actually headaches. It is always in my right eye, my eye sometimes hurts and I feel an unreal pain at my right temple. I have been to many specialist, and they keep referring me on to someone else. This year alone, I have been several times to my family doctor, my eye surgeon, Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist and even my Oral Surgeon. They all say that the pain is either a migraine or my eye. I have an eye disease and a couple of years ago I had a corneal transplant in my left eye. I have always thought this pain was due to the eye disease, but my eye doctors said it isn't. I really just want someone to hear me. My eye seems to always hurt, but at different degrees. When it really gets bad and I am going through one of my episodes, it can last up to 5 days. They seem to be getting worse as time goes by. All the doctors, and there have been many, that I have been to, seem to want to just medicate me for awhile, but then after a few months they tend to think I am just looking for drups. That is ridiculous. I just was someone to hear and believe me. I do throw up, but only during my worst episodes. However, severe pain does make me throw up. I threw up while in labor, after my corneal transplant, etc. I can't sleep during these episodes, at all. I take bath after bath and seem to feel "better" sitting up, there is no way I could lay down. My husband rubs my head, but sometimes that makes it worse. Could these be cluster headaches? Somebody please help me! joni

CH's are the worst immaginable HA's there are as you can see from the posts and info on this site. Id check with a neurologist if you havent already. Hi Joni. Glad you found this place but sorry you had pain enough that you had to come looking. A couple of your statements have my believing that you do not have cluster headaches. But, I'm not a doctor so don't take this as the last word. my eye sometimes hurts with clusters the eye will always hurt. it can last up to 5 days clusters usually last from 15 minutes to 2 hours and then are gone. seem to feel "better" sitting up, there is no way I could lay down. this is a true statement about clusters but do you just 'sit'. Most cluster sufferers are up and pacing. My husband rubs my head most sufferers will not let anyone even touch them during an attack. It's late in the evening right now. Some more folks will probably be here to answer you questions in the morning. Hope you're pain free til then.

Thanks for the response to my message. BobG, you are right, I can't sit still for long, but there is no way that I can lay down. The longest I sit still is when I let my husband rub my head, but he says I'm never in one spot more than 5 minutes. Also, I do find myself rocking and/or pacing because of the pain. However, my pain doesn't seem to be as most have described to be with CH, meaning it comes and goes. My headache doesn't let up for days, and I cannot sleep through the episode. I have even taken 2 or 3 hydrocodone, but it doesn't help when I'm in the middle of an episode, in fact, I think it makes my head hurt more. It is however always in my right eye and it feels like my right temple is about to explode and also that I might have an ear infection. I went to the doctor 3 times in 1 week, each time he gave me antibiotics (I was on 3 strong antibiotics for a total of 15 days and nothing helped) and predisone shots all the while he said "no ear infection, but possible sinus infection", that is why I went to the Ear, Nose & Throat specialist. I have had a CT scan, blood work and tried antibiotics but nothing works. I just have to ride them out. As I said before, I have been to many family doctors, an Oral Surgeon and an Ear, Nose and Throat specilist, but I haven't been to a Neurologist in over 10 yrs., I guess that is my next move. I just hate spending all this money, but I will do whatever it takes to get some help. Thanks for caring! joni

Like Bob G said, clusters only last hours not days. Try taking the cluster quiz on the left. ..................................jonny

Joni, it sounds like you've been through what most all other cluster sufferers have gone through. "it's only a migraine........sleep it off" "it's probably a sinus infection" "it could be an ear infection" "go see the dentist for bad teeth or TMJ" "see your eye doctor" "get a CAT scan" "get an MRI" Your next step is to see a good neurologist. Read what you can here and at the OUCH site. If the neurologist confirms that it is clusters ask what he/she thinks about about verapamil as a preventative, imitrex and pur oxygen as abortives. Please do not 'tell' the doc what you need or want, it will only piss him/her off. Now do as jonny suggested........click the cluster quiz button on the left side of the message board screen. Good luck, hope you fail
