If anyone here has went from chronic to episodic or vice versa, I am curious as to if there is a noticed difference in attack severity.

Nope. My first 15 years I was technically episodic since I'd have remissions lasting only 2-6 weeks (and then cycles for 2-6 weeks). The last 4 years that remission period's evaporated and I get them 3-8X daily. And there has been no change in severity. The 10s are still as strong and gives the devil a hard on when he sees me with them.

The reason I asked is that I get attacks 1-3 x daily with the longest remission period of 12 days.  I did not keep track of remissions until I was diagnosed in 2000, but these started in 1992 at age 20.  I don't feel that I have ever experienced anything worse than an 8, so I was wondering if episodic clusterheads typically get it worse.  The only one that can truly answer that is one who has experienced both.  BTW, I had a head crusher last night, but still an 8 max.  10 days in a row so far this time....I seem to have forgotten what sleep is!   Angry  Thanks for your response Ted.
