Advice For Wine and Sufferers?

I am being treated for clusters using Topamax, which seem to keep the clusters at bay.  I would love to have a glass or two of wine, but terrified of an attack. Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks.

alikat,

Fortunately, alchohol is not a trigger for me.  But it is for almost everyone else.  Have you drank before while in cycle?  I love a glass of wine in the evening....but, I love red wine especially.  There are some evenings when I can just look at that bottle of red wine...and say, nope, I know it's gonna get my head.  White wine has no affect like that.  I'm just scared I'm going to be stuck with a life of Pinot Gris!

Hope this helps,
Tracey

Well..I don't drink but I believe if you drink, you may risk an attack. I guess you have to weigh out the pros and cons if you really must. Personally, I'd live without the alcohol instead of risking a cluster. That's just my opinion.

Good luck.

Well alcohol is a trigger for me, and I am a lightweight on my best day, but I was taking topomax and had some wine and I would say go slow.
If you like two glasses try one and see what happens.

I never tried wine while I was in cycle but I do know that beer is a definite no no for me although I can drink vodka, so go figure...

Wine?  Cluster attack?

Hmmm, not a tough decision to make if you ask me!

I heard that Bob, that's an easy decision to make.

I hadn't had a drink for 6 months until this past Friday. The coast seemed to be clear so I had a few beers and all went well. The only pain was a slight hangover the next morning...o2 saves the day again!

May not be the ETOH as much as it is the other stuff in it.  I've had more trouble with red wines than white.  Dark beers are also worse for me.  Unless I'm in a pretty stable period I've gotten so I just don't any more.  To me its not worth the risk.

If you like try my Clusterhead Wine Coctail. Ingredients: glass of wine, shot of Imitrex.

OK, I'm earnest. Since alcohol is trigger for me I drink regularly: once a year. No EtOH no problem!
