About a month ago, when I was still being haunted by these, my neuro gave me a script for Lidocaine....at the time I said I'd try anything.  Apparently drip it into nose....   Anybody have any experience with this?  Thanks - Jim R

Not personally, J, but I remember reading some posts about it. Guess what? Works for some, does not for others.

Lidocaine  is a sort of cousin to novocaine with which they deaden your nerves at the dentist.
It is also (yes, I am a fount of useless knowledge)  used in a preparation you can spray on your member, if said organ is so hypersensitive, it reaches the finish line before starting, o to speak.

Good Morning Jim,
I’ve been using Lidocaina for 10 years in alternative to Imitrex, It is a local anesthetic.
For me it works, the only disadvantage is that it can bring tolerance.
You have to spray it on the nostril many times or you have to go to doctor to teach you how to make tampon on the nose, so that it effects sooner.
In Italy it is very difficult to find it, I get it only in the hospital. I don’t know how it runs in USA. I hope it works for you too!
Good Luck,

Yes....interesting tidbits of information!  LOL.  Zaira - I haven't tried it yet because have no need as CH's have gone away for time being, but will try it next cycle and let you all know - it's not a spray - just a bottle with the liquid in it and I suppose I would have to use a medicine dropper to instill it....

I tried a 4.5% nasal spray a few clusters back.  Didn't help me.  It ws in a bottle with one of thoses pump spay thingys.  Had to find a pharmacy that would mix it up as it's not a standard preparation.  Also, it only has a 3 or 4 month shelf life.  So if you have some and your next cluster isn't due for 8 or 9 months, it'll probably be just water by then.

Jim - So glad to hear that you are doing so well. As for the lidocaine, I tried the drops....it did not stop my ch. Like Ave said though, with all ch meds...they work for some and do jack shit for others.

Someone posted a study a while back on lidocaine treatments in ER's for migraine patients...they found that it worked no better than a placebo. Do a search in the archives and I'm sure you will find it.

Let us know what happens if you do decide to try it.

Peace and love,
Georgia

Oh well - didn't know it has such a short shelf life.  I'll pick some up again when I go back in cycle and try it.  Thanks for the info everyone!  Jim R
