I found it to be as effective as imitrix.  By that I mean it only kept the beast at bay for two hours then it was back in my face wanting to dance again.  It is suppose to supress your  ha for 6-8 hours that is what I was told.  To bad the medicine didn't perform as well for me.  I was disapointed and went back to imitrix.

Frova is supposed to be one of the latest migraine drugs.

My neuro tried it as a preventative for me. He had me takeing a Frova daily.

One of the advantages of Frova is that it stays in your system longer than other triptans. If I am not mistaken it has a 26 hour hal life.

Unfortunately for me my cluster did not like Frova. It wants Maxalt or IMITREX.

Have you tried o2 yet? This is my first year using it and it seems to work as good or better than Imitrex for me. And the best part is it's cheaper, safer and cleaner.

I started on O2 last week and find it usefull if I catch the cluster or migraine early. If I am in head smashing pain O2 does nothing for me and it is back to Imitrex.

I have heard of some success with Frova as a prophylactic drug (as was mentioned above).  I have also found it to work pretty well for me.  You can also avoid some of that yucky feeling from Imitrex, et al.

Thumbs up...

My neuro put me on Frova along with depakote as prevenative meds. It was to break up the cycle. It kept the beast at bay for the most part.

Last month he took me off the frova and gave me maxalt as an abotative. Haven't used one yet. (Of course, we all have our own thresholds and kip 5 is when I will take meds)

I took myself off of the depakote two weeks ago. I haven't had any attack worth noting for some time now. A few small ones that lasted for just a few minutes, so I think I can say that I am out of cycle. Thank God.
