numbness

I am in the 3rd week of a cycle.  I was out of town yesterday, at the airport gate waiting for my plane when a particularly brutal ch hit.  I had rented o2 for my hotel room (but had not needed it) but was without at the airport.  I had not had any bad ch for almost 2 weeks, thanks to prednisone, but yesterday was the first day I was off...

Anyway, for the first time, during this attack, my both of my hands went numb.  This scared me a bit.  The airline insisted on calling EMTs (I was dealing with the ch in the usual, frantic manner in a very public place and I am sure they thought I had a tumor or something). The EMTs insisted I go by ambulance to the ER.  The doc suggested I might have been hyperventalating which may have caused the numbness.  I got a later flight home, after I got a note from the ER doctor saying I could fly.

My question, did the numbness result from the ch, or otherwise?

I have not heard of this before either but I'm thinking that maybe because you were in such a public place that you paniced and did hyperventilate.

Hope you feel better now...

Sounds like the numbness was brought on by panic. You had a CH attack in a busy, public place. It is understandable. I would still get that checked out with your GP.

Welcome and sorry you got hit like that.

So far, I think there have been almost no mentions of numbness related to CH. I too, think it's anxiety or panic related.

It may be like a childhood seizure that happens only once in life. Hope so anyway.

Stick around. You'll find good stuff here.
