ive been taking depakote for 5 days now, with a little relief, most of the side affects have gone, but it doesn't make me feel completely good for more than a few hours. i started to take an extra dose at night and i felt better today.i'm taking 500-1000mgs a day now. i know this is a popular drug for this, but has it worked for anyone completely and does it take more than a week to really start helping? my neuro says if it doesnt help in a week or so to see a headache specialist. i'm very confused as i dont get the fierce attacks that you all seem to describe, but rather a constant dull headache mostly in my eye sockets and temples. all mri's and cat scans clear. i read a lot about o2, i do have access to some, but i dont know what level to try it at. does it help instantly? thanks for helping

Oxygen needs to be used at 10-12 litters for about 10-20 min. to abort a headache. I can't help with Depakote for I am allergic to it. Hopefully someone will be by soon to help you with that part of your question.
