I got this email and want to share it with all the people who have donated to Garrett and sent him Christmas Gifts!

Dear Angel Johnnie,
If you talk to your friends, tell them thanks.  I will try to write them when things slow down.  The other day, I wrote a poem to all of the people like you who have done so much for us.  It is very difficult to show your real appreciation for so many people.  Remember, I am a math teacher so creativity is on the total opposite side of the brain that I use.  Have a Merry Christmas, and an awesome New Year!!!  =)Kelly

Unforgettable Friendship

I can not begin
to find the gratitude to show
To a group of wonderful people,
    some I’ll never know

It started ten months ago
when the unthinkable came to be
My son became very ill,
    the end was unforeseen

Our lives began to change
as we thought we may lose our child
To watch him suffer like this,
he became so meek and mild

Just when you think
you can not make it through
Along come these friends
    to help as they do

I can not express
    the pain in my heart
it’s people like you
   that give a new start

This season reminds me of sacrifice,
    The Only Begotten Son
If this life were so easy,
would He have given his only one?

I know that my son
may go to a better place,
But if it be God’s will
He may offer us some grace

A miracle may come
with the faith that we share
To enjoy our kids throughout this life
    brings joy beyond compare

No matter where we end up,
I know that I will be
Forever thankful
for the friendship you’ve given me
