Give the verapamil another week or so at least. What dose has the doctor got you on? That could make a difference. Do you use 02 or imitrex? Good Luck, Jacks

Prednisolone has worked for me to stop an attack for a few days. This hopefully will allow time for the preventives to work. A good abortive such as Zomig or Imitrex will also give much needed relief. Ask your Doctor, tell them you are hurting. I hope you get a break soon, hang in there WB! Mark

Bill, When I first started verapamil, it took a good 2 weeks to kick in, and then we had to re-adjust the dosage. This may be the case for you as well. Be patient and strong...it will take effect eventually! hugs Ann

Must agree with others. Need to let Verap work for 10 - 14 days before it really starts to kick in.
