With one of the turkey day postings I began looking up foods that may contain MSG. Silly me thinking only chinese foods and the likes of them. Now I see Doritos and Geletan? My Jello has MSG? Anyone have a good source to start looking into? I see I have ALOT to learn here! And who ever posted about the alcohol not cooking off of the food my DR just had that conversation with me that especiallially during an attack a dessert like bannanas flambe can kill you!

A good source for what has and doesn't have MSG? Is that what you're looking for? There's only one source for that. The back of the package. There are some companies that use it and others that don't. And some companies that use it in things that others don't and.... It can be in anything from soup to spice extracts.

Yeah that is exactly it. I was shocked to read Whistishire sauce and All spice. I wouldn't think that those contain it. Made a great stew tonight with Wirstishire (Sorry on Percoset right now. Fingers aren't working so well...) I am just now seeing just what a life long "journey" this is going to become

I just went to your profile and read all your posts. So, why are you still on percs when you know there are better things out there for you? You even said you went to the ER and thought they were crazy giving you O2, which worked to your surprise.

And more importantly, why are you using a worcestershire sauce with MSG? Not knocking the MSG but that you aren't using Lea & Perrins, which doesn't. Cooking, which I used to do for a living but now just for enjoyment, relies on the subtlety of good tastes. Some items you can go cheap on and not use a brand name. But others, like worcestershire sauce, you have to be picky with.

Please someone correct me if I'm mistaken... Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) is also known as autolyzed yeast extract. So you may want to go back and re-read all your packages. You may want to check out this link to learn more about how to identify MSG: http://www.truthinlabeling.org/hiddensources.html I am not familiar with the sponsors of this site, so I don't know what thier agenda is nor do I endorse them... I simply did an internet search, and that is what I found.

Not trying to tell you anything you might not already know, but, the problem is not only MSG/Vetsin.It's anything that makes the contracting and expanding of the arteries.Certain chemicals and sugar contents.Chocolate, cheese, alchohol (wine): not the alcohol so much as the chemicals and sugar content, thats doesn't cook off. These nasty chemicals and additives are everywhere, even in our meat.Going out for dinner is almost impossible, gotta really watch those sauces!Especially here in Holland there is alot of Aromat used.It is supposed to strenthen the taste of the food but it is loaded with the MSG shit.Super serious Headache maker.Really have to try and eat as organic as possible!

Ok, I am confused......... I know MSG has been rumored to cause Meegraines, but has there been an official correlation to CH? The statement about the bananas flambe confuses me too - are you saying that if you drink alcohol while in a CH it might kill you?

Halber, wees voorzichtig, please be careful... The list of trigger foods is more suitable to migraineurs than to clusterheads. I can consume MSG, alcohol, cheese, chocolate, banana's and I don't get one cluster more or less. Triggers vary enormously for clusterheads. So somebody can take MSG without blinking, but get a Kip 9 from eating one banana... Read up on it if you don't believe me. Researching the site would be a good thing anyway.

Thanks for the information but i am only telling you what I and other clusters i know experience and what the 2 neuroligists(that both have and had clusters) have told me and written about in their extended research. As you must know every cluster patient is different and luckily you have no problems but maybe someone else does and doesn't know that food stuffs, and flying and cold can wake the beast.Doesn't have to but can!I have researched everything everywhere, trust me.And luckily here in holland Cluster headaches are and have been and still are a source of extensive research for the last 5 years.

of course you must know that!About dying from alchohol and bananas, if you are asking me,no there is no way you'll die from it!The only things that can happen,as far as i know, is that you can get a headache from it and it can take longer for them to go away. But as was said, you will have to figure out what are you're own headache makers because everyone is different! With me I know when i have eaten someting wrong when the headache hits really hard within a half an hour after i have eaten it and it resits leaving.Only speaking for myself, though!
