??? Has anyone ever given themselves a headache by taking Nyquil? My husband has a cold and to try to get a better nights sleep took a swig of nyquil and just got a KIP 9 in about 5 minutes that moved in so fast it was scarey. (Could it be the alcohol in the nyquil? Duh, for not thinking of that beforehand)

I suppose it depends on your sensitivity to alcohol and how big a swig you are talking about. Nyquil has a lot of alcohol. I hope he's feeling better and keep up the good fight. Charlie

I wish I got paid to drink... I'd never complain about my job again.. LOL Reminds me of when alcoholism used to be considered a disability by social security, except without the requirement of gettin' drunk off what ya drink. PFDAN..................................... Drk^Angel

I used to take Nyquil all the time to fall asleep when I traveled and never had the problem. However-I drink red wine every weekend and it never causes a CH either-guess I am not sensitive to the alcohol!

Thanks so much to all of you - for taking the time to answer, and for being such a help. The best thing about this site, and about all of you is your willingness to "be there" for each other and for those of us who don't have CH's, but who love someone who does.

One time (long ago) I went to the mall with my friend while in a cycle....We ended up at Burger King and I had a coffee (surpise!) ...........I was afraid to eat. I am like that during a cycle. Always wary of getting hit (especially in a public place like a mall...) anyway, i DID get hit. Her daughter had a bad cold and had this cough medicine with codeine in it. She suggested I try a swig of it. I did try it. And then the attack got go bad I begged to leave the mall and head for the car. Needless to say, I barfed big time in the parking lot on the way to the car. The cough syrup crap did NOT help at all. I would not suggest Nyquil or any other syrup thing while to alleviate an attack.....But, that is just me.
