For several years I have suffered from migraine headaches and take medications daily for them. The past year I have begun experiencing severe headaches and have a new diagnosis of cluster headaches. However, the symptoms I have been reading about concerning cluster headaches do not necessarily describe what I am going through. I begin with a bad headache the first day and it progresses into a severe headache. I begin taking Hydrocodone as directed by the doctor, but the headache becomes so severe I begin to uncontrollably sob. I'll call my doctor and he orders a couple of pain shots, which use to help but does not always do the trick. The biggest difference I see between the headaches I have are the length of them and instead of wanting to bash my head against the furniture, I want to sit and be very quiet. This makes me think the diagnosis of cluster headaches, may not be correct. Any comment?

I think your migranes are getting worse. No way can I "sit and be quiet " during my cluster attacks. I would get a second opinion if I were in your shoes. Sly

Sounds like migraines. Do they wake you up at night? Take the cluster quiz - button on the left. Good luck and I hope the pain doesn't destroy thanksgiving for you domm

Doesnt really sound like CH to me neither. I could never ever lay down and be quiet while under attack. And I've never had any pain killers that have helped them. You would be wise to see a neuro. Good luck, suzy

Don is right. Clusters wake you up and you won't want to lie down or sit still with a CH attack. I hope you don't fit in. In any case, welcome aboard. Charlie
