Writhing on the floor....

Whew! Just finished a perfect 10.0 -- squirming and wiggling around on the floor under my desk and choking back all the screaming I could have done had I been at home instead of at work.... Where would I be without the after-headache euphoria? I don't often wax philosophical on the cluster board, but geez-o-flip I feel good right now , and it's a mighty nice gift to be able to enjoy it knowing I'll be back on the floor sometime later today. Here's to Imitrex and O2! Here's to life between the headaches! Actually I think I'm getting a handle on this cycle with verapamil, I just let the beast sneak up on me at lunchtime today.... PFD's to all, Old Dave

Thanks Slam-ola! Yeah, it reminds me of a junkie I once knew (rest his soul) who ate hydrocodone pills to get by from day to day. He used to say how his entire body would be wracked with pain when he woke up, but after eating a few pills he could feel the pain-free zone start to bud within him, then spread slowly until the last aches of the morning left through the tips of the hairs on his arms. His problem was that he had to repeat the process in about 20 minutes or he'd go nuts. Finally croaked from a hole in his stomach due to the excessive amounts of other analgesics in those pills.... It is a wave when a really bad CH goes away -- my right eyebrow seems to be the first part of me to notice. It's been squanched down toward my cheekbone for however long, trying to help somehow with the agony, and suddenly it arches up -- the rest of my face notices and the pain has fled like a thief in the night. I feel a poem coming on -- more later. Thanks for the commisery, it's why I always come back here. PFD's, Old Dave

Dave, Thank you for trying to stay positive and for sharing that with all of us, although it's extremely difficult! Those first few moments when the beast leaves is just like heaven....I believe we ALL live for those moments. Keep that positive attitude flowing - I do believe it helps in the long run.... NotH20
