My Apologies

If I’m offending Elaine, the sweetest soul and most inspiring and uplifting person I’ve met in years, then of course it’s “wake up and re-evaluate” time.
I knew that the guys wouldn’t bat an eye about anything I said, and I only responded to the most vitriolic posts to me, but I neglected to realize that their friends would take offense.
Like the Reverend, my sense of humor is tweaked sometimes, especially being up 30+ hours at a stretch. And, ChristineL: no, when I’ve already taken the maximum dose of Maxalt MLT and the oxygen seems like it’s burning my nose (probably not), I don’t have anything else to do except to write long winded messages that say nothing, just to take my mind off of pain. I thought that in the spirit of this board that was allowed. It never took away the pain, but it kept me from fixating on it, kind of like taking me out of my body, and helped me cope. I really started that thread to take flame away from my newbie post, but after I saw the hysterical responses (Dingleberry’s?…really now) I was caught up in the humor.
Sorry I pissed everyone off, another life lesson learned.

Good to see your sense of humor is still intact, “Can dish it out but…”. I wasn’t apologizing to you, I was apologizing to the “Elaine’s” on the board. And I wasn’t insulting everyone I was going with the flow of the responses to my post, quite a difference. Hope it took everyone’s mind off the pain for a while.

I am far the sweetest soul, you did not offend me directly, but when you insult my friends you insult me.
I wil tell you something about these people you insulted.
Jonny he is one of the sweetest men I know and he would give you the shirt off his back if you are in need.
Den is one of the best supporters I know and has a heart as big as gold. Den is a very special person.
Charlie he is in chat every night cherring people on, and being a good friend to everyone that wants a friend. Great support great guy.
Margi is a wonderful woman that supports and supports.
She backed ya and welcome you but you still cut her.
Ted is another special person, the support he does not many see his support is private but its that way with him and many.
I never talked to Slammy I just know him from his post, a few emails. He is a great guy, he says what he thinks. He stands behind it all the way. His heart is full of nothing but good.
Revdeford, he seems nice I have never emailed with him but I read all his post and think he is cool.
I except your Apologies, I think its oued to them also.
Talking about Apologies I oue one to someone to but I will do it on a seperate post.

I truly was not trying to “insult” anyone. I totally agree with you, that these people are the cream of the crop. If you doubt me please see my response to ajdavis. As far as insults go please remember that I was inviting flames on the merits of my newbie post, not necessarily personal attacks. However I was not offended by being referred to as a Dingleberry, I almost fell out of my chair laughing. I was quite taken aback, that everyone would be so offended by my “attempt” at a humorous response. My lesson is learned, my post is deleted. As Charlie says, I have one strike against me, I hope that I’m not kicked out of the game.

Of course I understood that it was totally and completely in jest, and I hope you understand that my response was equally, totally and completely in jest. Besides Dingleberry (shit it still cracks me up, so to speak) I also got dumped on with: worm, not a very nice person, asswipe, dick, lacking in mental prowess or any semblance of intelligence, distrust and detest, jerk, you have migraine’s (now that one DID hurt  ) and little ball of Crap. Seemed like everyone was having fun. I thought we had a “Slam ‘em till they laugh” thing going. Nobody told me that the rules state that: I couldn’t slam back because I didn’t know you all long enough.

A guy or girl comes to the board, can't or doesn't try to please everyone, peoples responses can't all please him/her either. Crap hits the fan for a day or two and then the storm recedes.
If no casualties, we can all be friends and live happily ever after.
That's life! Happens a lot. Should be (and to a point is) in "new visitors" info. 
We all need at least taste the humble pie. Not my favorit. Probably made of those dingleberries, too.

He actually does sports reporting on (NPR) National Public Radio as well as write for Sports Illustrated.

Yes, I know he's on NPR... as a "commentator", not a "sportscaster".
He also is a regular "correspondent "on the HBO show, RealSports With Bryant Gumbel.
He is still not a "sportscaster" and the Rev is still a "bonehead"
