I suppose this IS possible, however, I'd like other opinions..... The last couple of days here, have been unseasonably warm, Today...Significantly colder. During the warm spell, my headaches subsided considderably. Today ,actually last night the C.H. returned, anyone else notice this? I'm just trying to get a rough idea of how C.H. may respond to weather changes. Captain R.D. Brown

I'm not really sure but I get them every sept and oct. I posted a question a while back asking if anyone thought the season change brings them on but I think most people say no.

Weather effects me significantly. Heat aggrivates my head and will give me kip 10s instantly. I have to stay cool. When there are barametric pressure changes due to rain or snow I will almost always end up in the ER. The pain is unbarable.

I don't believe weather has anything to do with mine. I've had cycles when I lived in CT in the summer, when I lived in Florida for 12 years I had cycles every two years but times of year varied. I now live in VA and got my last cycle in the middle of winter. (Feb) So, hot or cold didn't seen to matter. It just amazes me how some can have such reactions to weather/climate/etc and others of us don't and how some meds work for some and not others, etc. Then at the same time the characteristics of CH is so obviously the same for us that we know it's CH. Did that make sense?? Hope so, I'm at work and rather be home sleeping. PFDAN..

Significant changes in temperature, altitude, and time zones often invite the beast to dance. October/November are the biggest challenge for me.

I do not belive weather has any bearing either. I lived in New England, louisianna, and Africa and suffered Ch attacks. I agree with echo, Time changes and duration of sunlight play a factor. I'm not an expert, not by far. But, the experts, So called say.. Seasonal or daily biological cycles may trigger disturbances in the hypothalamus. Please correct me if you think this is wrong, I'm trying to understand. This statement to me is saying, Our cycles are changing Not the seasons changeing. PFDAN, David

I think you're right David. Change in the weather never had an affect on my cycles. I work a rotating shift and change one shift to another each week. The changing from dark to light to dark to light shifts can play with the internal clock in the hypothalamus. It throws off the eating and sleeping order and can bring on attacks for me.

I'm not convinced temp changes trigger attacks either.....Late Aug. thru to late Oct. round here is Brad's bad time ta get CH's back but suppose it is more the light and a seasonal thing. We jus happen ta get a big temp change around then tho...can go from very hot and dry to cold dreary and wet overnite and stay cold. I think the time change should be outlaw'd....my opinion !!

Nope, weather changes don't affect Mike either. Me, they affect, but that's because I get migraines, not clusters. And, cootie - it's not the time change - it's the change in the amount of daylight hours...it's a circadian rhythm thing that causes the clusterheads' hypothalmusses, hypothalmi?, ok, hippopottami to do the chicken.

OK....we jus hate the time change period round here.....it screws up everything fer a while with dinner and gettin up in the mornin and time ya go ta bed....ya get used ta the time ya get up ect 'somewhat' then they go and make ya change the clocks so kids won't get on the bus at dark. Way mosta the bus drivers drive 'round these curvey narrow back roads the dark is the leasta there problems.....ha !!

Good thread, I can relate to a lot of what has been said. I have tried to find an environmental trigger for years and for me, I don't seem to be able to. I moved from state to state, I have changed jobs, I have changed women, nothing made a diffrence one way or the other. I have been working a split shift for two years now and I still cycle in and out of the same cycle I have had for the last 8 or 9 years. The split shift does add tremendous stress to my body and make me more susceptible to other illnesses though. PFDAN, Mark

Brad got hit hard this year after his vacation down south with family that went kinda rough (his mom can be quite demanding) and his job work load got major with problems with guys he was to leave in charge messin up orders. Then stuff started breakin round here when he got back....Murphy's Law is it ??? He seem'd to get thrown in cycle earlier this episode time 'round. Not sure if any of that was the total factor and can't help but wonder if he'd of gotten em if things woulda went smoother ? All that stuff was a big change with sleep pattern....work hours when he got back.....eatin ect ect ect......interesting.

Dunno. I got hit in dry weather, damp weather, hot weather, and cold weather. Don't think it was a factor. Charlie

ok people thank you..... I was just trying to get a consensus and the results are in.... of those who have replied to this thread MOST , %still not tallied yet, said...... NO.... weather changes are not a significant factor for THEM. the #1 trigger for those who replied are as follows... Most are directly affected by the change in Season ( does not include those who are "chronic" due to continuous service by the beast) Time and scheduling issues i.e. sleeping patterns, daily schedules, medication times, and daylight savings seemed to rank second. Lighting changes ranked last in absolute dollars and accounted for approximately 1/3 of all government spending. LOL Bottom line so far?......we are all vampires! LOL! gotta love the syllogism method of reasoning.....carry on! Next time I'll try "occam's razor" in my polling results.
