I think most of use don't use the strap. Becareful that you don't fall asleep while on the O2. Otherwise, at best, you'll wake up with a severely dry throat and an empty tank. At worst, the safety ports on the side of the mask will be blocked, and you'll sufficate after the tank runs out.

yer spelling SUX Drk....but yer absolutely right......and I have suff"o"cated numerous times when I fell asleep with the mask on.....  ......waking up gasping for air is NOT fun..... so just cut the strap off and SET A DAMN ALARM.....egg timer or whatever....if the o2 don't give you relief in 15-20 minutes....chances are it ain't gonna get it THIS time...... but KEEP TRYING.....this therapy is (statistically) THE most effective with the least side effects tool we have for kickin' BEASTASS there is.....so far......
(works for me.......and I ain't gonna stop pushing this ......not until Charlie's Technique works for ALL of us.......) ;D

There has been reports that 100% O2 at high flow can cause damage to lung tissue, but there's some dispute as to how much is too much. As long as you are being careful, ya shouldn't have too much to worry about. Good luck!
