How long did your longest headache last?

My headaches usually last 30 minutes to 1 hour. Today I had one last almost FOUR hours.
Yes, this was full on blown kip 10 cluster the entire time. I thought I was gonna die and my eye was going to pop out.
I actually went to the ER and walked out cursing because of the wait! So embarassing, now that I think about it.
Has this ever happened to anyone, where you had an incredibly LONG cluster?

Close to 3 hours, this was in the 14 yrs I was unmedicated.
27 years chronic to date.

Last time I remember that kinda thing, I ended up as the Hospital (central suffolk - smithtown - jack you know that place...) anyway they kept giving me different things (shots) and I ended up really messed up. Lasted the whole afternoon and after that I went to a wedding! LOL. Can't believe I went home, took shower, got dressed and sat at that table at the wedding and no one knew I was FUCKED UP only a short time ago................CH IS WEIRD................

6 hours - but let me say that it is possible there were multiple "cascading" CH's wherein I did not recognize the short breaks between. I frequently, however, have long ones - usually 3+ hours...

I really think they're cascading multiples that just sequence one after another so I don't recognize the breaks... My usual duration is about 2-3 hrs.

My longest ever was only about an hour at "full blast". Had a handful that never reached high octane that lasted longer. but that was rare.
Like Jonny, that was in my no-meds days. Seems like the old adage is true - we are all just a little different......

I am gonna be careful how I answer here. Most of the time the run of the mill CH last me between 1 and 3 hours, varying between 2 and 8 on the Kip. However, I have had, on a few rare occasions a real crainum buster hit a Kip 7,8 or 9 and stay there for over 6 hours and then slowly fade to heavy ghost, but only a few of times in the last couple of decades. I save Kip 10 because I think I have only really had a dozen or so in my life. I have hurt enough to consider the last word in the description, I just think it is a permenant solution to a temporary problem.
I also have had cycles so quick that as many as 8 to 12 HA in 24 could happen, but as I age that seems to have gone away(?), at least for now. I am too scared to say to much of anything with certainty because as soon as I do this fricking disease will turn on my in a new and un-tried way.

The first few years I would get them for about 3 hours, do the ER thing but now the really bad ones only seem to last about an hour. Yesterday had one for 3 hours but was only kip 5/6. Last night went to a wedding and drank lots of vodka, was pf all night. This is the 3rd weekend of my cycle and so far each weekend that I drank alot of vodka I would be pf. Don't know if its just a coincedence but I'm about ready to stay drunk till this crap ends.

;D ;D My attacks have been consistant for the entire 33 Years, 20-30 min's if I could get to the cold water or ice at the moment of onset, 45 to 1 1/2 hrs. if I could not, My longest was a year- then I came home from Vietnam Alive! With a whole new moral value system! The funny part is because I started self medicating with heroin I was actually back a few months before I quit the Horsedance and the headaches resurfaced, lucky for me I had them documented in Nam! Ovet there G.I.Gin was the answer to everything. A pint bottle of codeine and back to the field. Too bad I was alergic to codiene, no one would believe me except the guys that lived with me in my hooch, thats how I got started with the Heroin, one of them said he couldn't sit by and watch me suffer like this any longer so he gave me my first toot with out telling me what it was, worked like a gem!

Chronic TTH for the last 13 years. Who's a wimp now? LOL Spent 8 hours in the ER waiting room with a CH that was through the roof before the beast went back to sleep.

I've historically had the 1 1/2 hour CH's twice a day, but this cycle has me totally guessing. 'Trex injections usually work like a charm, and they still do, but for this cycle if I take an injection, I've got another CH 5 hours later.
If I don't take any meds at the moment, the CH hangs on for about 3 hours full bore, and then deals me heavy heavy ghosts for a full 12 hours. But .... once the ghosts vacate, I'm PF for 3 days. Don't have a clue what to do at this stage. Trex every 5 hours, or suffer for 12 hours to get 3 days PF??

Prior to being introduced to Imatrix ( injections ) appro. 3-years ago,I use to get many of them that would last from 5-7 hours at a time. This past Sept.13, I had one that lasted 11 1/2 hours( with a kip scale 10- lasting 7-hours)this odd long attack i can only guess was due to this new medication called frova that i took for 2 - days prior to this long attack ( yes i injected myself twice with the imatrix with no releif from it ). By the way,that was the first time that the imatrix has failed to rescue me from the beast,again i can only contribute that to the frova ( which if you offered me a million dollars i would never touch it again ).If there is anyone out there that does use frova and it works for you,i have the rest of my script less 2 pills,FREE for the taking.

I have been cyclic for about 25 years. This was the first year that I experienced one for 4 hours at a kip 10. Hope that never happens again.

In August, right before I started Verapamil, I had a kip 10 that lasted 6 hours. Have also done this in previous cycles.
That's usually when i start begging my hubby to shot me. ( I'd better watch that, one day he may take me up on it) LOL

Congrats y'all! I have some good news. I have reliable information that the know-it-alls have determined that if your attacks last longer than an hour or so, you don't have clusters, so it appears most of us who replied to this thread can all go home. Isn't it great for ppl who aren't doctors, and have little to none formal training in clusters or any other headaches have decided we don't need to worry about having clusters? That's big load off my shoulders for sure. Have a great non-cluster day!
