Education and responsibility

Even though I consider myself an educated man I have become humbled at just how much I don't know about this disease I have had for so long. I was so overcome with emotion for the first few days here I did not read the whole site until recently. The more I read, the more I discovered about myself, the ulcer link, the histamine link, the body clock link, all relating to me. I have been depending on Doctors to be responsible for my treatment, not me. That is going to change. My treatment has not been bad, it will just be better. Its my head. Thanks DJ and all you Clusterheads, Mark

I also join you and Paul in stating how much this site has helped me. It is kind of over whelming when you find out you are not the only one.

I agree -- this site has educated me to become the active pushy participant in my treatment, rather than the passive observer awaiting the drs opinion as to what they feel like trying next.

HEAR! HEAR! This site (and OUCH's site) has helped me tremendously! I too went through several years of dealing with CH's and just went through the Dr's, etc. Because of this site, I learned several things about our disorder that I didn't know. Regards and PFDAN to all. StanTheMan

mark I have to agree.. I too was relying on the docs to help me... but.. for the first time ever.. I finally felt empowered from the knowledge & strength I got from here...and my doc finally understood & took appropriate measures to help...Thank you DJ Shari

I was diagnosed by my doc when I was 19...with a shrug, I might add. And he gave me fioricet. I'm 31 now. 4 years ago, next month, I found this site and printed everything about meds off of it and took the stack to my doc. He shrugged again and started writing me scripts. I hope to never hit a 10 again. What a godsend this site has been. Mast
