Remission ... but I almost feel guilty
« on: Oct 9th, 2002, 8:29am »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

OK... I'm officially in remission.  No meds past two nights and only a couple of shadow visits.
(Kip 1).  Lord willing, (and if the past is any indication) I won't have to deal with the beast again for another 18 to 24 months.

I feel like shouting from the rooftop and doing a litte jig sometimes (not to be confused with the "cluster dance" we do!)

BUT-- I didn't know about chronic clusterheads until I visited this site.  I wish so much you chronic sufferers could get a real break from the pain.  And I almost feel guilty about talking about remission here, knowing that there are many that would like to have what us episodic sufferers have -- a real break!

Comments?

Thanks, hugs and prayers to all, especially the chronic folks here!

WHOO-WHO!  Congrats to you SmileyEnjoy every pain free day ya get!

Been pain free since mid April and like you not expecting next visit for about same time frame as you.

I too have those same feelings for folks suffering chronic.  Makes me feel sad, mad, and a certain feeling of "impotence"... hard to explain.

Congrats Stan!  Don't feel guilty about being in remission.  I highly doubt that anyone, much less chronics, would have any complaints about you going PF.  In fact, I'm pretty sure most all clusterheads are very glad to hear you're getting paroled from the beast.  Good luck, and may it be a long remission.

Well StanTheMan.......congratulations on the end of this cycle.     Us clusterheads know the excited feeling, so why don't you post us a pic of yourself as you shout it from the roof top   ;D

Felt the same as you when it comes to chronics......never DREAMED someone suffered endlessly from ch

I feel safe thinking though, that not a ONE chronic sufferer would EVER begrudge you the pf remission!

Don't do the jig on the rooftop. You may fall
, hit your noggin, and get a headache. That would suck.

Hope your heading for many PF days. STICK AROUND.

Good for you and guilty is not a thing you should feel. It's like a pardon from the Governer. Who knows? Maybe it the beginning of a beautiful 119 PF years.

I feel guilty a lot when I read some of these posts. I have only had 2 episodes in my whole life and they were 5 yeras apart. I have been pain free for a while now, but stay on my meds until I feel sure they are gone (and then wean off)  I was so miserable when I found out what I had and that there was no cure- I felt sorry for me-but after reading these people's experiences, I am thankful for my version of this beast.  I also know that my circumstances could change any time-after 5 years I thought I would not get them again and BOOM! they're baaack...
Enjoy the peace-Jabeen Smiley Smiley Smiley
