Garrett was on chanel 10 news last night and this morning in Idaho ! His web page was on there. I got a update one him he is showing progress. here is the Email I got today from his mom. Hi Johnnie! We actually got some great news yesterday! At first, our doctor thought Garrett's tumor was growing when he looked at the MRI. There is a cyst that is growing on the tumor, and it showed that this cyst had shrunk in the MRI. However, the doctors thought that the tumor had engulfed the cyst. They wanted to get a PET scan to make sure. When they got the PET scan they found out that 90% of his tumor has been killed. Isn't that wonderful! What had happened is that there was another part of the tumor that had always been there, behind the cyst, but since the cyst had shrunk, that part of the tumor was now revealed. So it wasn't growing. The PET scan showed that only about 10% of the tumor is still actively growing. The doctors could not believe it. He said this was amazing, and he has never seen anything like it. When I told the Dr two months ago that my insurance would consider covering a portion of the treatment if they could kill 50-60% of the tumorin the first two months, he said that it was ridiculous, and that was unheard of. Never in a million years did anyone expect this. Who knows if it is only a temporary thing, but it is a great "temporary" thing, and Garrett has good quality of life right now. He is walking now, kind of unbalanced, but he is walking. He has also regained his hearing, and the facial paralysis is disappearing. We can only pray that this progress continues. =) I believe that it is a miracle, keep praying. Kelly Just want all that helped to know what is going on. I wanted to thank each of you again.
