Hi everyone, 
I came to this website and started posting here because of my friend 'Angel', my nickname for him. He sent me here to find out about CH as we were getting to know eachother and he wanted me to understand what CH is and who he is in relation to it. ...and possibly what I'm getting into....
We have or maybe now, HAD, a long distance relationship (yes, I know those are supposed to be doomed) but talked everyday, etc. and now.. don't know.
He was suffering all Sept. with really bad cH, Kip 8 about 3 times a day if I remember correctly, dealing with all the meds.... now PREDNISONE is making him crazy (and you all know the unfortunate sideeffects) he says. Well, to make this short, he has decided that he doesn't want a relationship, too much going on in his life....I think he's scared, and Iknow he's been hurt many times in relation to CH, friends, personal relationships, but I can't read the truth right now...
So, now after having been here and reading all your posts, laughing, crying, making new friends, LEARNING, lurking and having a little fun here and there... I feel that maybe I no longer have a place here.
I had only intended to come here as a way to keep myself informed and do a little research for 'Angel'., someone I care about....now I'm at a loss.
Just wanted to say to all of you thank you for showing
me that there are some real human beings out there, caring, compassionate, thoughtful, intelligent, friendly, funny, raucous, a little insane  sometimes, raunchy, and mostly big-hearted folks here, in spite of all your troubles. You have shown me power of spirit in the face of adversity, and not only in regards to CH, but in many other things that are incidental.
Thanks, REE, paul_b, fire_brix, Cathi, Slammy, Jonny, drkAngel, echo, Charlie, Bob, NancyC, oringKid, Margi, SailPappy, lil Mildred  ... oh there's so many to thank, I think almost each and every one here has touched my life in one way or another.
This is no place to post about my personal probs, and about feeling sorry for myself so I'll say,
Thank you Lord for letting me come here to find more than I expected, doesn't happen often in life; watch over the people who have been touched in some way by the beast, that they all have pain free days coming permanently.

As far as your angel....well, maybe the slimy, scuddy, dastardly devil has control of his thought processes right now......or maybe you're too much of a gem to deserve him....let him be the firefly- let him go, and if he comes back, he's yours.....THEN, you can decide if he's worth keeping...........but just don't go.....'kay?

I don't want to go... I'm just not sure I belong here. If I feel that I might be able to help, give some encouragement, to anyone, I'll do it. I just thought I might be one too many of people not in the vicinity or realm of people with CH, and so my experience is extremely limited, except for what I read here from now on.
I've stopped crying finally, I'm feeling somewhat better. You are right about the firefly reference, I know, that's what I had decided....I have feelings too ya know. Still have the meegrain though, since yesterday..I know its not CH, but they go for about 4-5 days when I get 'em, it really sucks - well, whatever..
You are somethin' else, Cathi, thanks for bein' a pal..

Maybe it's just me, and I'm fine with it if it is, but I think we need more people here than just the sufferers and their immediate supporters.
If we are to win the battle with CH, then knowledge and information will be our weapons. If we keep a small community, then we may cut our own noses to spite our face (which incidentally I've considered doing thanks to the beast...) sorry, back on track here
To everyone out there who has never seen, or suffered a CH it's non existent. If people like you and Cathi, who are not directly suffering come here and learn and spread that knowledge, we all gain power.
Power that can help to make this a more known and recognized disorder.
I don't feel you need to leave. If you want to learn, the information is here. OUCH needs people, sufferers or not to run things and participate. That can be hard for sufferers - especially chronics.
You are willing to learn and seem willing and ready to help the overall cause. I would enjoy it if you stuck around. That is my opinion.

And, Peppermint? Could it be that your guy just doesn't want to put you thru life with clusters? It actually could be a protection thing on his part. And, he just might not realize how much help a good supporter can give him. None of my biz and I sure don't know all the details, I know, but I know how some clusterheads try to be superheros, too.
Just my three and half cents worth. (I'm Canadian - that's the exchange rate. )

I think that makes a lot of sense, good to get your perspective... it makes a difference.
You know, now that you mention it, its amazing the number of moronic responses and commentary that I have received when talking to people about CH. Yes, it is not only uncommon, but people seem to think folks with CH are mental (um, Slammy  , care to take the floor? ) and I have actually been truly offended by some of their remarks  . ..It's not even about me but, oof, its like a punch in the gut, having read so much of you all in the past couple of months.
So, yes, there is a great deal of ignorance in the modern (?!?  ) world about Cluster headaches amongst the general public to say the least.
I think I'll stay in the ranks with Cathi and do what I can.... its only right. I may not have gotten here on my own, but there are no small coincidences.

I considered that .. I think you are right, I can't be certain right now... he's very concerned about the side effects of his meds right now, embarrassed about some (Pred). He's also mentioned but not wanted to talk in detail about how supposedly good friends have hurt him (in regards to conversations about his CH) and how he's been through so much heartache because of it. I would imagine he's met the wrong people, who don't want to be bothered is my guess.
Look, I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly and this guy is a good guy - by far. I just think maybe its been a while since he's had to contemplate a real relationship, and all the other things keeping him busy are his tools for distancing people. Hell, I should know, I've done the same thing for years....and then I meet someone halfway across the damn country, who I absolutely think is a dear... it figures.
Thanks for your 3 cents, its worth a million in my pocket.

How 'bout safety nets, cheerleaders, co-ruminators- I don't know- I'm tired and I've worked hard today.....c'mon girls, there's gotta be a good name for our subgroup.....Pep, whatcha thinkin? I think the point is this.....we would LOVE to help out in crisis- we'd rather you never need us- we'll be here for you....kinda sounds like we're supporters, doesn't it? I guess I fall in that "sub group" - some of you may remember me, I came here almost 2 years ago when I was incorrectly diagnosed with clusters. After taking the cluster quiz and talking with some of the finest people on this planet, I realized I didn't have clusters at all, fired my doc and have been a crusader for cluster education ever since!
I cruise the meegraine discussion boards for misdiagnosed cluster heads and lead them here knowing that they are in excellent hands. But, I never post - just log on to check on people who have become family to me. So, if you are serious about this sub group thing, sign me up! Hey Ted, I'm still waiting for my T shirt!!!
