dividing the meds

Hi all, I have been crawling around here for a few days reading the various post and learning some things. It has led to a question. Some of you talk about splitting the shots. Is it possible to do the same with the pills? I take 50mg tabs at a time. I know I can cut them in half but is the pill made such that the medication is evenly distributed or is there filler in it. I am down to four tabs and my insurance has limited me to 9 headaches a month. Any info appreciated. Also glad to find out I am not alone.
Oh yea, sorry to keep running on here but does anyone have the feeling that if you could just pop your neck the pain would go away. Mine are always on my right side and I feel like if I could just pop that side of my neck it would all go away.

Can't answer about the meds, but I'm a right sider as well, and when I'm getting hit I feel that if I could pop anything the beast would go away. My neck generally isn't a problem, other than the muscle stiffness that comes from the tension of the beast, but I'd like to squeeze my head in a way you'd squeeze a pimple to see if my brain would pop.

Yes. You can split any of the triptan pills.
Last cluster the neuro had me splitting Amerge tablets and 1/2 every 12 hours.
Funny, the 100 mg tabs are the same cost as the 50 or 25 so why not ask for the 100s and split them?

I have even done that with my verapmil. I cut them in half and took them four times a day instead of taking a whole one four times a day. I am not one for taking meds and if I can make less work better for my body.

Bob... Most insurance companies will pay for twice as many 50 mg tabs as the 100 mg tabs... I know my insurance does that... Same price per script, but I either can have 8 tabs of 100s or 16 tabs of 50s.
