It took so long to get here and went WAY too fast! What a great weekend. Warren and I arrived at the hotel just after noon on Thursday and as we were getting out of our car, Margi and Mike came walking up - so hugs all around. After we got settled in our room, we went up to their room and met Elaine. Margi and Mike are wonderful people - Warren and Mike got to visit lots - Margi and I not enough. Elaine is looking wonderful - she had all new clothes for the convention! It was so great to see her again and get to visit more this time. While Warren and Mike went to the airport ot pick up DJ, Margi, Elaine and I walked down to London Drugs to meet Tracy, and buy supplies for the Hospitality Suite. We had so much fun deciding what we needed, we bought so much that Tracy had to drive us back to the hotel. That night we sat out in the courtyard where everyone could smoke and drink while we visited. DJ got to drink his "can" of Canadian beer that Warren bought him. That night Bill and Deb L. arrived - I love them. I could listen to them talk forever - they sound like the Kennedys! Linda H arrived just after DJ, so she got a ride back to the hotel with them too. I met her in Atlanta too, but got to visit with her more this time - she is a wonderful lady who has way too many headaches. Linda - your package is in the mail!! Jane (Bama) arrived with Elaine so she was there too - a lovely lady who also talks with a neat southern drawl. Michelle (Mast) and Paula arrived by car that night too - I love Paula - got to meet her in Atlanta and was so happy that she made it to Vancouver. Mast is a great person - so helpful and friendly. Elizabeth is a blast - she introduced herself as "Dizzy Lizzy" and she lived up to that name sometimes!! She kept me laughing when she was talking. Judy W and Sheryl arrived by van too - so nice to see Judy when she is obviously not feeling very well, and it was great to meet Sheryl. Her poor husband had to wait in Bellingham for her - hope he found enough to keep busy! Mary D was there that night too - I love this lady. She looks wonderful too! She is in great shape and seems to be doing very well. Melissa was there too - a real sweetheart. Her hair was longer and darker than in Atlanta, so took me a few seconds to recognize her. Dave and Annette Emond arrived too - they had been in Prince George the day before and were trying to find us. Poor Dave kept getting hit and had to leave, but Annette was always there for him. I left a lot of them still out there drinking - cannot keep up to those people!! The next day (Friday) Warren and DJ headed back to the airport to meet Jonny, so Tracy and I went to do some errands - pay for golf, order donuts, and pick up the sound system for the next day. Tracy was wonderful - she did so much running around for me when I was 500 miles away. Then we went back to the hospitality suite to meet everyone and make up the welcome bags. By the way everyone, the small white "Friendship" bag that was in your welcome bag was from Elaine - very sweet. So now Here's........jonny! He hasn't changed a bit - he is just a big softy. We also got to meet Len and Gayle from Edmonton - a great couple. Gayle was a truck driver for years - that's how she met Len, but now she just teaches driving. Bob P arrived that afternoon - after two very long days of driving. Poor Bob had to pay taxes on the t-shirts at the border - cost him lots of time as well as money! That's our border guards for you. Doug W from Nanaimo came in too - he was so great to arrange for all the oxygen - we had 4 large and 2 small cylinders in the room! Today we also got to meet Scott and Kristi West and their cute son Connor. What a great family! They were all so friendly and nice - from Kentucky. Connor invited us all down to see the "blue horses". The Italians all arrived too - we had seem Riccardo twice before, but always a pleasure to meet and kiss him! Got to meet Stefano and Davide - they both do very well with English - Sten a little more than David. Piara and her husband PierUgo also arrived - they were staying at a different hotel downtown. So lovely and gentle they are. Then Karla and Ted arrived - they had driven from Seattle. A very devoted couple. Barbara G also arrived then - so wonderful to see her again - I'm so glad she was able to make it. That night most of us ate in BB Sports Bar in the hotel. Bob P and DJ (and probably a few others) got to try poutine!! I know they loved it. We also found Marsha (pro golfer for sure) that night - she had to stay across the street though as our hotel was full. Then we met Neil and Nancy Sherwood - a lovely couple from Salem Oregon and Dennis and Jan Jorgenson from Vancouver Washington. They are obviously "lurkers" as we never had the pleasure of meeting them before. The next morning Michael White showed up - a very nice man from Greshan Oregon who is was great to meet. To be continued - it was too long!
