Doing Great Then BAM!

Had my high school friend's dinner party last night. Friends were all hoisting a few and I was drinking Diet Sprite and was quite content - I had had a wonder ful day yesterday - no shadows and no CH. Man, I thought things were coming together. I ALMOST (around 10:00 pm) got cocky and thought I could have a couple of Newcastles Ales with my buds as we were reliving our old days, but then thought - "why mess with PF and success?" Wonderful day, wonderful evening... Went to bed at 1:00 am and the Beast came calling at 2:30 the onld hour and a hlaf after falling asleep - REM). Sucking on the O2 for almost 1/2 hr. (resistant SOB) subdued him enought to go out again, but then a revisit at 5:30 (a little more insistant and reistant this time) made me drain my tank. WTF! Hope all you are having better luck at least with consistency! BUMMED IN NEW HAMPSHIRE.... Jim R

Oh yeah - had been PF at night while asleep for four nights prior to last night. The days' CH were getting less frequent, less intense, and shorter and O2 was taking care of them in short order (usually). And believe me, the flirtation with the Newcastle was extremely fleeting as I pictured myself back in the ER, in agony, getting the shots of demerol and phenergan! BTW, menu was pan-fried tuna steaks in olive oil and pain fried sea scallops in butter with roasted eggplant, carrots and parsnips, garden salad, oatmeal bread - wonderful! - Jim R

Jim - glad you had at least one PFD anyway. My own experience is that I can only take one day at a time. Happy for the good ones, work my way through the ugly ones. Reading the last part of your post made me hungry, gonna go rummage throught the fridge....maybe some icecream. The cold feels good on my teeth Hang in there, pain free days are just ahead. domm

I do feel really lucky and really hungry after reading your post Jim. Crap, I am complaining cause I can't seem to quite get over this ... while I went about 60 days non-stop with the headaches now I am at a point where I have shadows constantly and only get a real banger every third night or so ....... know I am on the downslide and just want it to go away. Started the verapamil cause at this point I just want to wake up and feel good for a change .... been waking up with the shadows and going to sleep with them for over 30 days... they seem never-ending. Well, just to let you know ... I will go to sleep tonight and thank God for just shadows cause I couldn't have lived another day with the a Kip 8 once or twice a day. Keep trying to live inbetween the pain ........ and I'll keep praying they find something for you that works.

Hey guys - sounds we're all sort of in the same rotten boat...it is so discouraging, don't you think? I mean, I was really getting up. I sang along with songs on the radio yesterday and just felt wonderful all day and had had no CH or even shadows at night for 4 frigging days and then it all went to hell. But I guess, you're right, domm, take each day/night as it comes and deal with it as best we can. Nancy - I know, they wear you out. I'm not eating much 'cause I just don't have the appetite (my meds?) and I want them to end of course, too, but I know I have a looong ways to go yet. I can hang with the pain, I just have my doubts about mentally. PFDAN's to us all! Jim R
