Ya know... The verapamil has kept me attack-free for over a week, and it's been a couple of months since the last time I was woke up by the beast. Then last night, I'm sleeping pretty good, and I end up dreaming I was havin' an attack, which caused me to wake up positive that I was having an attack, until I realized my head didn't hurt. OY! Damn beast is losing the battle with the verap, so now he has to trick me into thinking I'm having an attack to interrupt my sleep. Oh well... At least I was able to go back to sleep after I was able to settle down. I just hope this doesn't become a routine. LOL PFDAN........................ Drk^Angel

Hmmmmmmm Dark, when I am not in a cluster I also use to dream the beast. She is ready to attack and I am ready to defence! What do you think if we meet in the dream and strangle her? ;D Happy to know you are better. Greetings from Italy, Zaira

Zaira... That's a good idea... You distract it, and I'll beat the beast upside the head like the cartoon Ted posted. That'll work... PFDAN........................... Drk^Angel

Hey Drk - My husband has been taking verapamil for over 10 years and when taken consistently, it works (he lapsed for a little while - you know... the Superman syndrom!). He hasn't had the beast in over six years, but it recently showed up. Not sure why. We'll see the Dr. in the next week or two, but in the mean time, hydrocodone has been the pain reliever prescribed. Works ok, but still alot of pain. Hope the Verap works at least as well or better for you!

Well... I've found that the verapamil has been fairly useful. I've been takin' it for goin' on 4 months, noticed a definite decrease in attacks and severity about 3 months ago when the doc raised my dosage to it's current level, and now I only get breakthroughs every week or two, with just shadows and other symptoms in between. As for the hydrocodone... Glad to hear it helps your husband, but none of the opiates or opiods work for me. Neither has any of the abortives I've tried. Praise the gods for O2 'eh? william_meeker, Hi, Same thing happened to me as your husband. Verapamil (240 mg./day) worked for me for 7 years then, last year, they came back. Last year lithium took them away, but this year I can't tolerate it and it wasn't working anyway. Now they've doubled my dose of verap., added Catapres, but still having them (although a little tiny bit better). Good luck to your husband...and welcome to the MB Drk, hope you're doing better bro! PFDAN's wishes to you. Jim R
