My neuro is starting me on a epilepsy drug called Lamatical in hopes it might be able to prevent my ha's. He is also going to get approval from my insurance company to cover botox injections and we are going to try 2 or 3 rounds of them to see if I get any relief from that. He is also going to get permission from my HMO to send me back to the other HMO's Headache Clinic to see if they have any more ideas. Since I will then have exhausted all their suggestions. He also said he would not argue against me seeking pain relief from my dr with methadone or morphine like he has done in the past. So I think I made some progress today.

Aha Karla. I've been taking Lamictal for about a year now for my epilepsy. The one thing about it is that it doesn't make one groggy like so many anti-seizure drugs. As long as your MD keeps track of your dosage, you'll be OK. It's been easy on me so far. Good luck kid, Charlie

Hello Karla, I used lamictal for 2 cluster and it worked. During the last cluster lamictal caused me very strong attacks, making me do some actions that I shouldn’t do. Stopped with lamictal my cluster went on but my doctor soggested me to stop lamictal, making another treatment. I don’t want to discourage you on the basis of my experience I suggest you to pay attention. Good luck, Zaira
