I confess - I am the original Cookie Monster so yesterday while grocery shopping I picked up the new Keebler Country Style Oatmeal and Raisin cookies.

For those of you that have constipation problems with either Pred or Verapamil - try them. Took care of my problem this morning.

I had about 8 of them last night- gotta love those Prednisone munchies Smiley Smiley Smiley

Speaking of constipation from verap, I had it today!  Not only from verap but from Percocet last night and my catapres apparently causes it too - 3 drugs all working against me.  Well, I was getting a bit panicky and some woman in my wife's office said, "tell him to eat about 6 stewwed prunes and he'll have no problem.".  Well, I HATE raisins and these mother prunes were like giant, disgusting raisins, but I managed to get 5 of 'em down before the upchuck mechanism kicked in and after all that it never worked!   Sad  I guess finally it was all the metamucil and water I drank that did it! LMAO (finally!) - Jim R  PS  Glad the cookies worked for you - much nicer than prunes!!

Oh goodie, my favorite.  Bathroom humor.  All I need to use is apple juice and several pieces of KFC or Long John Silvers and I have the hershey squirts for a day.

Hey JimR - nothing beats the involuntary prune protein dump while driving the porcelin bus aye.

Christine -- I love those cookies. I'll try 10 and hang on for the ride.  Weeeeeee

There is a way to battle that particular side effect, they call it sit and go lightly and it is named very very wrong.
Go to your drug store and buy a bottle or 2 of magenesium citrate.  Chill, drink, and sit.

There ain't nothin lightly about it!

I second that that one, Cat.

Tried magnesium citrate as calcium channel blocker. Didn't do much for the CH, but now I nearly sh*t myself everytime the Beast stirs.
