Question about the convention...

Boob or Bonnie...

Is there a place to pay for the registration fee
by credit card?  If no, why not? ;D  I will be able
to send a check, it just won't go out into the mail
until Aug. 30th, when I have the cash.

Thanks in advance...

Nope.  No credit card site because they all take a cut of the payment and the convention just squeeks by on the funds it gets.  Can't afford to give 7% to the credit card company.  It would also involve a multi-step process because we do need the registration form info for ordering shirts so you would still have to register and pay the card.

We just kinda figure that putting the registraion forms on the site 5 or 6 months in advace should give everyone enough time to indicate their intention to attend.

Thank you for answering about the credit card question Bob.

If I knew I was going back then, registration would have been taken care of.  Because of an "Angel" who is making it possible for me to attend, I wasn't even going up until a week ago.  Gotta always figure in stragglers like myself...Shit happens ;D

Take care,

good idea Mich, isn't that what Elaine used for last years convention?  Plus, those of us that pay by credit card, I'm sure, will be willing to pay the additonal fees associated with using PayPal... ;D

You're missing the point.  The money is not the point.  The Italian contingent is paying when they get there which is fine.  The point is Bonnie and Margi and the others need the headcount to plan for this thing.

They have to reserve a certain size block of rooms at the hotel and sometimes the rates we pay get better with bigger numbers.  They have to make a certain number of tee times at the golf course and courses don't hold vacant spots.  They have to arrange meals based on numbers.  Have to order shirts based on numbers.  The most important thing in planning the convention, and the most difficult thing to get is an accurate headcount.

We do plan for a few last minute registrations and even some walk-ins.

To make it real easy Mel, if you are sure you're coming and we can plan on that, you can pay on arrival in Vancouver.  Same for anyone else who wants to jump in.  We'll never turn anyone away.

Thank you for your further explanation about needing a count ahead of time Bob.  I can now understand where you, and the convention committee are coming from.  Since I already have my plane tickets, you can count on me coming for sure.

Now, my original question was... CAN I pay for the fee by credit card?

You said: Quote:

Hopefully for the next convention, it will be possible to pay by credit card.  I think Mast has a good idea, and like I said, I don't mind paying the extra fees.

I will be sending my payment by priority mail on Aug. 30th.

Thanks again...
 PITA Mel ;D

Sorry if it sounds like I'm raggin' on ya.  I just saw your post as an opportunity to make a point with the MB population in general.  Wasn't meant to be aimed at you.

It really is ok to pay when you get to Vancouver Mel.  We don't pay most of the bills until the actual convnetion anyway.

Piera and PierUgo will come at 99% .

only a very bad change in the health conditions or docs requests can cancel their partecipation.

Piera, anyway, is in very good shape after the last chemo, then..... 5 Italians at the Convention.

Uh .... remember the badge for Stefano HAVE TO BE with "STEN", and not Stefano, otherwise you'll risk other kisses... Smiley

Mel,
Do you know where I can find one of these "ANGELS"??
I would love to go and meet some cluster buds in person.
At this point I'm hoping I will be able to attend wherever it is next year.  No $$$$$$$$ Sad
