I have a mother who has suffered from clustered headaches as well as migranes for as long as I can remember. I was always the one who held her hair while she threw up uncontrollably, and I was the one who rushed her to the hospital, and brought her home, and sat by her until she could see me again. I now live miles away from her, and a few years later I am now a paramedic. Understanding what is happening now is even more scary to me. She was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago, and had a kidney removed, which makes this so much more dangerous. As of today she sits in Vancouver General Hospital, undergoing drug therapy......Lithium, and a few others that she was unable to tell me due to the amount of drugs she was on. I want to be there to speak to the doctor's to understand what it is they are doing to her, because she is unable to speak full sentences and make sense. She told me tonite she doesn't know what it's like not to have pain. How do I help her now?
